Designed For :
DAY HIKING in all weather (hot, rainy, etc.). Weight is distributed between the shoulder straps and belt. A ventilated back, practical storage (with belt, water bladder and mesh pockets) and rain cover make this a complete hiking backpack.
How to pack a backpack :
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near the back. Pack your clothes around these items. The ground sheet can be placed under the flap, and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Keep a rainproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Place small frequently-used items (sunscreen, map, glasses, etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
How to adjust the height :
FIRST, LOOSEN all straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). PUT THE BACKPACK ON. For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, PLACE THE HIP BELT CORRECTLY (over the pelvis) and TIGHTEN IT. For smaller backpacks, the hip belt should be placed around the waist. TIGHTEN THE SHOULDER STRAPS. Finally, ADJUST THE LOAD ADJUSTER STRAPS to suit you.
How is the volume of a bag measured? :
The volume of each backpack is measured by a standardized method: we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as every pocket. Then emptied the bullets into a graduated container, which then gives us the volume in liters.
Bags certified "Air Cooling" underwent a laboratory test to measure the effectiveness of the ventilation system of the portage: a heating and sweating manikin to measure scientifically and objectively the ability of the bag to limit perspiration . This label is only granted bags whose performance is significantly superior to a model "basic" range (without particular ventilation system). We also compare them to competing products on the market.
All our rucksacks have been tested in use by representative users of those for whom the products are designed, under conditions identical to those you can find in use. In particular, our "Testing Missions", associate product manager to persons not affiliated with QUECHUA, to test, develop and validate products. We do laboratory tests to validate components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zippers ... Example, a fabric resistance to abrasion, tearing, UV rays, washing, waterproofing ... Then a test on the finished product in order to reproduce the stresses of bag over the years to control the resistance of the assemblies. We put it, filled with weights on a dummy which imitates the movements brisk walking, on thousands of cycles.
Care Instructions :
To ensure materials retain their properties (especially waterproofing), we recommend you do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, or bleach your backpack. Do not iron. To clean your backpack by hand, use warm soapy water and a brush if necessary. After a few years, you can refresh the water repellent properties of the fabric using a waterproofing spray.
The Strenfit component brand, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. These tests were carried out on the components, seams, and finished product. As a result of these tests, Quechua and Strenfit can guarantee all bags tested for a duration of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.
