The screws are not very good. They tend to get loose very often and are not durable et
Mirror itself is very good
Scres are not good
The retaining screw heads can be of allen key type hence sturdy!
everything but retaining screws.
little weak screw heads!
The fitting system is somewhat poor. It clamps on the outside of handle bars, this in turn it increases the lateral size of the bike. One has to be very careful while riding, so as not to break the mirror.
Good quality and design on mirror
Clamping system is improper and weak.
does the job, no issues faced so far.
My wife and I have recently purchased new bikes and our existing mirrors at 16mm diameter (we actually require 15mm diameter), are too large to fit into the end of the handle bar. We tried several other companies that claimed their mirrors were 15mm diameter but turned out they were 16mm diameter and would not fit. As a last resort we sent off for the Decathlon mirror which we received a few days later and low and behold the stem is 15mm diameter and fits perfectly! The mirror is by far the best we have purchased over the years and at £3.99 a bargain although packing and postage just doubled the price. Having sent for just the one we ordered another two, one as a spare. Finally we take our bikes to Europe frequently and the mirrors are easily reversed for riding on the right hand side of the road.
Large mirror gives a great view of traffic behind
Cost of packing and postage
Nice large mirror
Falls forward if not tight end enough
At last someone has used their brain in designing a cycle mirror. I needed this mirror for my class2 mobility scooter and it is excellent. I tried several mirrors but his is the only one that is any use.
A superb product
I bought and fitted this mirror the other day, I,very removed it already. It is somewhat large even for a mirror with a comprehensive rearward view (contrast size of this to e.g. Zefal Dooback for no greater coverage) The field of view is fine, fitting it is fine, there are ample adjustments possible to get a good rearward view but there is one insurmountable problem.
The vibration that this mirror undergoes even on smooth roads is absolutely unacceptable and renders it utterly useless for any safe and meaningful use in and around motor traffic. I have tightened it up to the point of stripping the screw heads, I have braced it with metal, I have locked it into position and bound the arm parts with tight zip ties to make a solid unit out of the several parts all to no avail, bracing and zip ties alleviate some of the problem but even then in use it is impossible to clearly see and judge the distance of approaching vehicles with the shakiness of the image. It may be a cheap product but even so it offers little in the way of value.
Thanks for taking your time to review the B'Twin cycling mirror and I am sorry to hear that you have not been happy with the quality of the mirror in regards to how much it shakes from use on the road.
I would suggest that you return it to the store with your receipt/decathlon card to get a refund or exchange with a different mirror.
Rob Basnett b'Twin Product Expert DECATHLON
Having spent more than three times the price of this item on a mirror that just refused to stay put, had a narrow field of view and just kept getting in the way, this B'Twin mirror is a revelation! Some 'real world' thinking has clearly gone in its design. It's out of the way, has multiple axes of adjustment so the perfect view can be obtained (and it's a large view at that), and, once secured, will stay in place for day-to-day riding. At just £4 it's the proverbial no-brainer.
Wide view, adjustment range, unobtrusivity, price
Great product, we had two before but sadly our bikes were stolen!! Still we have new bikes now and two more Decathlon mirrors. Thank goodness you haven't changed the design, they are just what you need. Easy to convert, two screws to use on the left hand side for Europe. All in all a very good product.
The price, the design, the rear vision
