A great first road bike for commuting giving fantastic value for money.
Alloy frame and carbon forks. With upgraded Shimano Sora brakes and Hutchinson equinox tyres for 2014 added to the full Shimano Sora drivetrain and carbon forks makes is a good mid range road bike.
Well this cycle sells like hot cake, so once I saw this model in the Decathlon store, purchased it immediately.
This is my first road bike, the initial impression was really good, till the spokes started breaking one by one. The wheels simply got bent after a minor crash.
Tried to get spare spokes from Decathlon, but they do not keep stock.
The rear Tyre also worn out around four thousand kilometers. The grip offered was also not that great.
Eventually I had to buy a new set of wheels which costed me more than half of the price of the bike also upgraded the tyres from 23 mm to 25 mm size.
Apart from that no problem. Effortlessly fast and fun to ride.
Really value for money product, good for people who are not sure about the dedication to continue cycling in a longer run.
But quality comes at a price. If you are serious then better to look for other brands.
poor wheels and average tyres
Love riding this bike. I bought this weekend and already rode it for 150+ km. Love the smoothness and lightness. If you look at the price, this is the best you can get in that range.
Have two issue though -
1) I don't like the Kendatire that came with the bike. I think Btwin could have opted for better quality tires. Anyhow, I am going to change them and upgrade to something better.
2) I don't like the Rim as its quite plain. I would have preferred a Rim that can carry the infamous Btwin name. That's about a bit of look I could have preferred.
Brake Hood Color, Tyres
kindly bring the 500/500SE model to india as well @ a reasonable price compared to the 300 model
I am using Rockrider 5 since last 1 year for daily office commuting and I am happy with it.
Two weeks before, I bought Triban 5 White (2012-2013 model) in clearance sale at Pune store for reduced price. Bike size was 51/20. When I tried it at store, it feels less comfort for me compared to 57 size bike. After I asked sales person to confirm size suitable for me. he checked with another person (working in service dept at store) who confirm that 51 size is best suited for me. So I bought it.
When I came back to home, I searched on Decathlon India website, I found nothing about bike sizes, bike maintenance. When I checked on Decathlon French website, size suitable for me was 54. Not not sure what to do in this case I have already bought this bicycle.
Prices of bike in India is on much higher side compared to Europe (this bike is discontinued in Europe, newer version is available).
weight, easy to handle.
