Warm and wind resistant
Bought this jacket for a month long mountaineering course in the Sikkim Himalayas. Used and abused it during the whole time and this jacket just didn't let me down even for a moment. Fleece pockets are cozy when your hands are freezing. 2 way zip is brilliant when you have to belay or rope up for glacier walking without losing any heat. The darker orange is water resistant as well as ripstop for wearing it with backpacks. All in all, a great buy for all the features and comfort for a quarter of the price compared to most brands.
Warmth, water/wind resistant, value for money
No stuff sac
Really good value

For the money one can't complain. I think you could get a helmet on under the hood. It has zipped pockets, including a handy chest one. The main zip is little fiddly to get seated correctly.

Seems quite robust and at this price you would risk climbing in the jacket and getting some abrasion damage.
It's a good fit, warm and a capacious hood
Material rather shiny
Excellent jacket

This is a brilliant warm jacket a third of the price of big name competitors. Its slightly heavier and bulkier than others, but the money you save will keep your wallet bulkier. Very warm, adjustable hood(helmet compatible), fleece lined pockets which are a dream to slip cold hands into, will withstand rain whilst keeping its thermal quality, 2 way main zip.
Only negative is would've liked a stuffsack, or ability to stuff it away into one of its pockets. A great jacket though...highly recommended, especially at £25. Thats a quater of the price of some rivals, but quality of jacket matches them.
Warm, good adjustments for hood, warm pockets
No stuff sack/pocket
Brilliant
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Bought as an under layer for sailing where vision is very important. The cinch straps on the hood enable a perfect fit, and the high chin make it just about the perfect under jacket for hideously cold trips. Tremendous value
Adjustable hood, very warm
fiddly zip
Well impressed - my new favourite.

Really, properly impressed with this jacket. Just done Snowdon with only a compression base layer and a fleet under this - wind was up and temps were below 0, this was fantastic going up and down. I've been wearing it over just a t-shirt around town; it's a great looking jacket. Real plus for me is bare arms never get sweaty as with many soft shells and insulated jackets - this seems to breathe incredibly well at the same time as keeping the wind out. Fleece lined pockets are a brilliant little bonus, buy without hesitation.
Lightweight, warm, wind protection, quality
Excellent Entry-level Belay Jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
An excellent entry-level belay jacket - very little to compare it to in the way of similar products, but for the price it does the job perfectly. Have used several times outdoors on cold, windy days and provides excellent insulation when on the stance, fleece lined pockets are a real bonus and can save on putting on/taking off gloves.

Picked a size one larger than normal to accomodate a full waterproof shell/mid/base layer underneath.

Only problem has been the zip is fiddly, so can be a little difficult to put on in a hurry.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a beginners, relatively lightweight belay jacket for longer outdoor/mountain days!
Warm, Functional and not too Bulky!
Zip can be fiddly if wearing gloves
Brilliant value belay type jacket
Used for 1 week or less
I've seen a few reviews of this on outdoors forums so thought I'd try one. I've got a lightweight synthetic belay jacket but in cold conditions, it's just not enough for me as I get hold and cold quickly! My conclusion (if you want that before the details!) is that this is likely the best value belay jacket you can get. Sizing-wise I'd say they are slightly oversized intentionally. I'm a 38-40" chest (medium) in almost everything and 5'10 / 5'11 height (can't remember which, I don't shrink and grow!) The large is possibly slightly too large (though tbh it's not bad) so I reckon go with your normal size. In terms of fit it's a good fit and not shaped.

Onto the details... A good hood that fits over a helmet (I've tried it) which while it's shaped, doesn't have a stiffened peak. Cinched at the front (tied down to stop it flapping in your face in the wind) and at the back to keep your hood snug. The back of the shoulders and the outsides of the arms are reinforced which is a great feature. There is a top pocket which will take a phone etc. The lower pockets have an amazing fleecy lining (on the outer side) which is lovely for your paws! Drawcords at either side of the hem will help keep you warm. There is a two-way zip which is great and an often missed feature. Zips on the jacket have toggles to help in cold weather with cold hands. Zips are OK, perhaps not the very best ones but more than good enough. The cuffs are elasticated but they're absolutely fine. I don't find the jacket too long for my regular length arms!

OK so in terms of insulation and warmth, how does it stand up. I haven't yet been out with the jacket, but have had opportunity to compare with other products I have. I'd say this is a medium-weight warmth and certainly comparable to a 100g weight warmth of the current 'leading brand' synthetic fill. Basically it is very warm, very well featured and a great price too. For £50 I don't think you could get anything near this spec at this price.
Price, sizing, features, warmth
No stiffened peak on hood?
Fantastic Belay Jacket, great price and warm
Used for More than 2 years
An absolutely fantastic jacket at a great price, used for scottish winter mountaineering as a belay jacket. I have been using the older version of this jacket for nearly 3 years and is still going strong. Worn over the top of waterproof jacket at rest stops, you trap the body heat in and stay warm. Because the jacket is synthetic it retains warmth when wet. good hood, the fleece lined hand warmer pockets are really nice on a cold day, good fit and build quality all at a great price. The only negative point is that on the latest version of the jacket they removed the 2 internal mesh pockets which are great for stashing gloves or water bottles and using your body heat to warm them. very durable warm and cosy, non of the issues of getting it wet like down, a must have for any winter walker or mountaineer.
Warm, good build quality
New version no longer has mesh stuff pockets
