It should be waterproof as this is made for tracki
Thanks for your feedback on the Forclaz 40 Air backpack.
The Quechua hiking backpacks are not made waterproof as it would require waterproof tapes on every stitching to stop water from leaking into the bag and also the fabric to be coated with waterproof material/membrane. With constant usage, friction between the items in the bag it is very easy to get the inner waterproof tapes and coating to get damaged therefore a much simpler, practical and cheaper solution is to cover the backpack with a rain cover or have a rucksack liner inside or both of them(if you know the weather will be really bad). This practice is very common among hikers/trekkers and I use my backpack in the same way.
Here is the link for the backpack rain cover that will suit your backpack.
However if you are looking for a smaller capacity solution for really short walks, we offer an ultra light accessory waterproof bag which is designed to carry your small belongings while keeping them dry. Here is the link.
I am available at your disposal should you have any further questions.
Thanks and Regards,

A lightweight rucksack that can hold a lot of stuff. Best part is the comfort it provides. Besides being lightweight, it has the AIR-Circulation design to keep your back reasonably dry during long treks. I wish a zippered deep mesh pocket was provided on one side.
The design for air-circulation
Need much more pouches

I needed to change my very very old bag to go hiking in Wales and Lake District. Was looking for a comfortable, affordable, practical backpack. Was not disappointed at all with this one. Only downside is that with lot of weight in it the objects tends to go very low (the bottom of the bag is not rigid enough I would say), not very important but can get annoying when climbing rocks and high slopes.
Comfort, color, price
Bought this as a day rucksack for a 2 week holiday to the lakes. Had plenty of room for my stuff plus everything the kids couldn't carry. Comfortable straps across the shoulders and reasonable cooling across the back.
Lots of pockets/space
Pretty much perfect, only drawback is if you want to use it for cycling (as I do), the top of the bag is very stiff and can dig into your neck if you have the shoulder straps too tight. Aside from this, fantastic value.
I bought this bag as a 'day trip' bag to keep coats/lunch/drinks/snacks etc in when our family of 4 went on days out.
Overall it fits the bill fine with its large compartment inside.
However i would have liked to be able to store some things separately inside the main bit as when your searching for something you may have to take half the stuff out that has piled on top in the meantime.
Large space inside, so far its been waterproof.
Lack of compartments
The strap holders need padding under them the plastick tends to dig into the skin not comfortable
I'm sorry to hear about your inconvenience with this product. I have already forwarded your feedback to our product manager in France.
You can return your Quechua Backpack to your closest store or if you purchased online via the online process for an exchange or refund.
I would recommend you another Backpack which has a lot of extra technical feature:
