The response was somewhat confusing but this is what I understood. The flowfit layer is more breathable and persiration is wicked away giving it a better chance to dry. This means that the sweat takes away less heat from the body and since water has a high specific heat capacity this is very good. So flowfit is better than simple warm with respect to insulation. Did I get this right?
can it be used to wear on mountaineering expeditions ?
This base layer will suffice if you are going for a Basic Mountaineering Course.
It's an active base layer and is more efficient in quick drying and breathability. If you are looking for a layer that provides slightly better insulation, I would recommend the Fresh Warm Base Layer . It is my personal favourite and I have used this on my ascent to Stok Kangri.
