Technical Information

FIRSTHEAT trousers are designed to cope with approximately 4 hours in the snow. To easily cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind...), these trousers have been developed using a component and treatment that prevents water getting in. To check they're waterproof, the trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with and to check the item is watertight.
Water repellent component
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without soaking it up. Wed'ze trousers come with a water-repellent component which extends its resistance to bad weather and prevents water from getting in. This is an additional high-performance solution to keep you dry as long as possible. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties"
Thermal insulation and padded lining
Thermal insulation means a garment’s ability to adapt to what the body is doing and the external environment while offering optimal thermal comfort throughout your day on the slopes ( = not too hot, not too cold). We used wadded insulation to keep you warm. Wadding is a polyester-based synthetic component which traps more or less air, depending on fibre size. The thicker the wadding, the more air it contains and the warmer it is."
We know how much energy you put into skiing or snowboarding… That's why we have taken great care in selecting the components that make up our products. We use only highly durable fabrics and assembly processes that undergo tough days of testing!
Directions for use
To be prepared for all types of weather, layering is the best option. However, you shouldn't do it with just any kind of garments: In direct contact with the skin, choose high-tech, warm but also breathable liner-trousers (for perspiration wicking). There's nothing worse than having wet legs due to sweating when out skiing. Avoid cotton and go for something synthetic, more breathable, better ventilated...

Product test
All Wed'ze products are designed and developed in the Mont Blanc Valley. They are then tested in conditions identical to their target use (snow, cold weather, powder etc.) Our design teams ensure that the product is fit for purpose and able to withstand real-life conditions.

Stockage tips
Store on a hanger (recommended). Make sure that the garment is completely dry before storing in a dry and ventilated place.

Maintenance tips
Advice for optimising the performance and durability of your trousers: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn the item inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabrics. Read the care label

Not good for trek
Used for 7 to 12 months
This is one of the first purchases from decathlon. Made the mistake, depended too much on the website rather than sales team. For extreme cold Chadar, thanks to the warmth felt it was a good product. But for any intensive or moderate treks this should be left in the wardrobe. I am not a Skier I guess it is only good for Skiing.

Pros: Warmth, Water proof, Good material, Gaiters... all good for Skiing

Cons: Bulky & Heavy, Not breathable will result in too much sweat inside. For a long time light the entire outer layer was soaked in water. Not good for multiple days.

Product is good, but I'm dissatisfied with the selection as it doesn't meet my basic needs.
Great for Bike Riding
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I used these pants on a Winter Bike Ride trip as alternative of proper riding pants. At temperatures around 5°C with speed of 90 Kmph with 0 visibility fog conditions, These pants stood like a boss between my legs and outside weather. They survived the chilling wind strike and fog condensing like a carved cake. I littrely forgot them and later realize that they were there whole time keeping my legs warm. They made their presence once you are on your feet because they are wide and proper overpants. They look little odd because not a lot of people are familiar with ski pants here.
Comfy and Warm
Used for 7 to 12 months
I've wanted a new ski outfit for a while but some are a bit loud and wanted something a bit tamer that also matched my other accessories.
These trousers are well made, look good and really warm.
When you're fastened up they feel secure
Great fit
Very robust beginner ski pants
Used for 3 to 6 months
At HK$175, this ski pants is a stunning steal. Comfortable and robust, and completely waterproof. Although it is not breathable at all, it said so in the product description.

A very good buy for a beginner. The Pro may look somewhere else for smarter design and colours.

Response of the brand
Hi Mr Park,

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the First Heat Ski trousers didn't fulfil your expectations.

The First Heat trousers are our first price in the range and they have been designed to be warm and waterproof. Indeed they are not breathable which means that if you have an intense effort the humidity will take longer to evacuate.

Following your feedback and the ones from other customers we are currently working on a new pair of first price ski trousers which should include a breathable membrane too.

If you are not happy with the Ski Trousers I invite you to go to your closest Decathlon store at the start of next season to get an exchange.

Kind Regards.
