Technical Information

1
What level of protection does the Oxelo MF 7 helmet provide?
All of our helmets are certified according to EN 1078. The shape of the MF7 helmet (covering the back of the neck and ears) is designed for doing sports on asphalt. Polystyrene structure and external ABS shell.
2
What does the EN 1078 standard cover?
EN1078 is a European standard concerning the test methods and requirements for cycling, skateboarding and skating helmets. This standard covers the following aspects: construction, including field of vision, shock-absorbing properties, fastening system features, including the chinstrap and tightening systems, markings and information.
3
How do they stay comfy and fitted?
There is an easy-to-use dial at the back of the neck for adjusting the helmet. The straps (dividers) have double buckles and can be repositioned to get a precise fit. Last but not least, the silky fused foam guarantees optimal durability and comfort.
4
How much does the Oxelo MF7 helmet weigh?
460 g in size M.
5
What sizes are available?
Two sizes are available depending on the colour: M (for a head size of 55 to 58 cm) and L (for a head size of 58 to 61 cm).
6
Why can't you use a cycling helmet on a scooter, skateboard or skates?
Decathlon cycling helmets are also EN 1078 certified. It is the shape of the helmets that differs: Oxelo helmets are designed for skate sports as they cover more of the head to protect the areas that are most at risk when doing tricks.
7
When should I replace my helmet?
Helmets are designed to protect your head from an impact. From just one impact. If you fall, even if it doesn't seem like the helmet is damaged, you need to replace it: it could be weakened or cracked in invisible places... and thus no longer provide protection. You should also consider replacing your helmet if it has gotten old. After 5 years, certain materials start to age, especially if the helmet is stored in a cold and/or damp place.
