Great knife for basic camping, hiking needs . Blade is super sharp when new so be careful. If you are more into serious wild camping if say it's a little bit too light duty for more serious takes like wood splitting etc and you would probably want to go for a fixed blade knife. The locking mechanism for the blade is probably a weak point in an otherwise solidly built tool. Would definitely recommend this add have used a few times in car camping trips and is well up to the job
I bought it thinking it was automatic knife. It turned out to be a normal knofe. Not worth the money.
Thank you for taking your time to provide us feedback, this helps us improve continuously.
I apologize that our product did not meet your expectations. Regarding the product, the red button located on the handle is used to lock the blade in the open position, but also in the closed position to prevent inadvertent opening. The stainless steel blade is very sharp and durable.
It does not have an automatic open and close option which you would have liked. We will keep you informed of any such option we will have in future. For now i can recommend you to reach your nearest store and get it exchanged. Also the Store team will help you find the right product for your need.
I stay available for any further queries related to our products and services.
this is a great knife, it is sharp and it is great for what we use it for in hiking, however, i have been using bushcraft knifes for a long time and this one, although lockable is quite stiff and i have managed to cut an enormous v shape hole in my finger as it was stiff on its 2nd opening, once to get it out of packaging and once to guide my cubs in safety - great they now know what NOT TO DO with one! but not great for a bunch of 8-10yr olds - the moral is the locking mechanism is stiff and the blade smooth and shiny and nothing to keep grip on with cold hands.... its self it is a great product but needs some adjustment
Thanks for your feedback on the Quechua Hiking Knife and apologies for the discomfort caused by the stiffness of the blade. I will be sure to pass your comments onto the design teams at Quechua to check and assess the product. Many thanks.
