Adjustment for spectacle wearers
Twist out eyecups for spectacle wearers.
For non spectacle wearers, twist out the eyecups as far as they wil go. For spectacle wearers, twist the eyecups down onto the binocular barrels.
To obtain a clear, sharp image of the observed animal, turn the central focusing knob to the right or left until you get a sharp image.
Diopter compensation adjustment
To correct the difference in visual acuity between your eyes:
Close your right eye and focus on an object about 50 metres away using the central focusing knob. Once the object is sharp, close the other eye and repeat the operation, focusing this time with the knurled ring located just by the right eyecup. The difference between your two eyes is now compensated for. You no longer need to use this ring to focus.
