Technical Information

1 pair of brake pads 1 spring metal pin not included
Wearing in your brake pads: essential before starting your ride
You will need to do several short, sharp stops on a flat, clear surface. Squeeze the brakes hard briefly 10 times, and repeat for three or four sets, to wear in your brakes. Braking sharply will wear the pad slightly. Wait about 30 seconds between sets of braking so that the temperature of your brakes will drop back down before you do a new set of 10 squeezes
Watch out for glazing
If you brake continuously or not enough, this can glaze your brake pads. Rather than crumbling, the brake pads melt. This will leave a thin layer of melted silica and metal on the top of your brake pad, making it less effective. If this happens, don't throw away your brake pads as they can still be revived. A few short, sharp squeezes of the brakes should wear the glazed layer and make your brakes work again
Anti-glazing tip
If the problem persists despite doing this short, sharp braking, take some sandpaper and lightly sand your brake pads.
