How to measure tyre wear
To measure the wear on your road tyres and to know when they need replacing, you need to inspect the tread. Signs of wear include: - tread starting to fray - the appearance of a series of micro cracks - low tread depth - the carcass becomes visible. In all these cases the tyre is worn and needs replacing.
How to remove a tyre
To remove your tyre, deflate the inner tube until no more air comes out. Once deflated, use a tyre lever to remove the tyre from the rim.
How to fit a tyre
To put the tyre back on, place one side of the tyre into the bottom of the rim. Next, inflate your inner tube to approximately 30% before putting it into the tyre (inflating it beforehand reduces the risk of pinching the inner tube). Then, insert the other side of the tyre into the rim, starting on the side opposite the valve. Before inflating the inner tube all the way, check to make sure it isn't pinched between the tyre and the rim.
How to inflate your tyre correctly
Inflate your tyre carefully. The recommended pressure is indicated on the tyre's sidewall and its product sheet (available online). Before each outing, make sure that your tyres are at the correct pressure for your ride.
Tip from the pros
When inflating your tyre, make sure you inflate it to the suitable pressure for the terrain you will be riding on and, above all, the weather conditions you will be riding in. When riding in rainy weather, lower the tyre pressure to increase the tyre's traction. On the other hand, when riding in dry weather, you can increase the pressure for better performance.

Sidewall cracked within 1 month of use.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Purchased two tires in January 2018, installed them in Feb-2018 and the sidewalls have cracked in 6 weeks. Have not used them for more than 700 km, and I do checked air pressure before every ride. This is the second time this has happened on these SRI Lanka made tires. Decathlon will refund the cost, but still it is pain for the buyer.
Response of the brand
Hello Achint,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your review. Sidewall cracking usually occurs when the bike is stored with the tires in a deflated state in bad weather conditions. We have not received a complaint about cracking in these tires in India before. Please visit the closest decathlon store and get it exchanged or refunded after explaining about the cracks. I remain available if need be.

Used for 7 to 12 months
It's a good tyre which I have used for my front wheel.
Good tyre for not a lot of money.
Used for 3 to 6 months
I wanted to use wider tyres on my Scott CR1. The tolerance is so tight I could fit a max 28mm tyres. I wasn't sure how a tyre would last or maybe rub so didn't want to spend a lot for my test. I'm glad I bought the 28mm version of this tyre. It has last well with over 500km on some poor quality Scottish roads. Yesterday we cycled the full length of Glen Lyon with its decent on gravely roads. No punctures so far and no degradation of the rubber. The bike is keep in a garage when not in use.
Not puncture resistent
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Changed my continental gator skins for these, got a puncture on the 2nd day having not had one for over a year. Will bin these and replace with another set of gator skins
Response of the brand
I'm sorry to read that you had a puncture so soon. As a cyclist myself it can mystify me as to why they occur making it very frustrating.
If you are not happy with these tyres, then please return them to us for an exchange or refund. We sell gatorskins if you require them.

28 X 700 resist 5 stiff bead tyre
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
No problems with these tyres
Good price
No negatives
Resist 5 very appropriate.
These tyres are extremely hard to get on the rims and I've ruined 5 innertubes on 2 rides. Wouldn't recommend these tyres at all.
Response of the brand
Dear Sir,
I'm sorry to read that the tyres have been a bit hard to put on.
I would assume that the punctures come from tyre pinching between the bead and the innertube. It may be worth put a bit of pressure in innertube (just a bit) to help seat the inner better .
If you are not happy with them you are of course most welcome to return them to us for an exchange or a refund.
