Made for Our hiking designers have developed these NH100 shoes for you to wear in dry weather on occasional walks in fields, forests or on the coast. Our motivation? To offer you comfortable and lightweight shoes that guarantee good traction on any off-road footpaths on relatively flat terrain. All at a very affordable price!
Soles with excellent traction, for off-road trails
The sole’s design is the result of extensive research carried out in our labs. It is composed of a specific rubber formula that optimises grip and traction. As no two requirements are ever the same, we automatically look for the best compromise for walking on loose off-road terrain (like a forest path) as well as hard, stony trails (like a coastal path).
Designed for use on off-road trails
Our hiking shoes are designed for use on off-road trails. We choose the components of the sole and upper of our shoes and test them to make sure that they are suitable for walking on loose off-road terrain (like an earthy forest path) or hard, stony trails (like rocky coastal paths). Use on the road (tarmac) may lead to premature wear on your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: secure attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, resistance to UV rays, abrasion of the sole and upper components, accelerated ageing. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
How to choose the right size walking shoe
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try several models and sizes if necessary. Check the following two areas of comfort:
- the heel seating
- the front of the foot on a downward slope
Avoid any pressure points when fitting. Feel free to walk around the store. Break in your shoes gradually over the course of a few hikes.
The shoe/sock combination plays an important role
There are several things that may cause blisters while walking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a shoe size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your walking shoes.
How to choose the right size walking sock
You must choose the right sock size for your foot so that there are no additional creases in the sock: either because the sock is too big and there is too much fabric around your foot, or because the sock too small and is pulled down into the shoe.
Choosing the right material for your walking socks
Moisture must be effectively managed when walking: we all sweat, it’s bound to happen. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away moisture from your perspiration. It is therefore necessary to choose a light and breathable sock as well. Whereas if your shoes are waterproof, to protect you from the moisture of the rain, you'll need to choose something different: you need a sock that will absorb your sweat, and wick it away from your foot.
What socks should you wear with the NH100 shoe?
These shoes are slightly breathable, but not enough to wick away all the moisture created by your sweat. We therefore advise you to choose NH100 mid socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction that wicks moisture away from your foot. They are also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It is an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.
Our hiking shoes are guaranteed for 2 years.

Our design team conceives, designs and creates all of our Quechua products at the foot of Mont Blanc, in France. We test them in the field with various hikers, to check their comfort and durability. In the Forest of Fontainebleau or in Brittany for example. we go to as many different places as possible, in all weather conditions. It's a great opportunity to discuss things, and an invaluable way of obtaining your feedback and preparing our future collections!
