I picked up this shoe in August for trekking around Sahyadri. The shoe didn't have a good grip and was not comfortable either. Even a little water will make it slippery. This shoe gave up only after few treks(6-7). I paid the full price for the product and to see it breaking up in few treks is bad. It developed a tear on the front side.
comfort, grip and durability
Hello Mr. Avinash,
Thanks for your feedback on the Forclaz 500 Helium shoes. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
To give an insight to this model, the forclaz 500 helium shoes are meant for usage on technical muddy or dry terrains, which comes with a cross contact sole offering superior grip on technical terrains. With the evofit concept, it adapts perfectly to your foot without compromising the support. Now, coming to your usage on aquatic terrains like the sahyadris, the solution I propose to you is the Forclaz 500 fresh shoes which offers grip on these terrains and also the perforated soles helps drain out water soon and stay dry in all situations.

PLEASE TRY TO PUT GOOD MATERIAL INSIDE OF SHOOES AS SHOOES GOT DAMAGED INSIDE NEAR THUMB ASTER 7 TO 8 ONE DAY HIKES
this shoes are really good, superb, comfortable,
damaged inside near thumb
Awesome product. I love the shoes. read the description above. It says that "take the size above your usual shoe size". My size is 8 so I ordered 8.5 and it fit well and looks very good. I am really happy to buy it.
People say that it is heavy but I don't agree with it. It is light weight in comparative terms. If you compare it with other hiking shoes and not running shoes, then these are far lighter than them.
Grip, No worrying about the lace, light weight
Found these an excellent fit and very comfortable. However, whilst they have been worn extensively through the winter it is disappointing that the fabric parts at the front and side have deteriorated badly and worn through. All other component parts have worn well. Perhaps for a walking boot, the wrong material has been used.
I am sorry to hear that you have had issues with the Forclaz 500 helium hiking shoes. I have exactly the same pair and I pretty much wear them every day (admittedly round work for about 5 miles a day and use them out and about also) and I have not had any problems with them. I have found them to be a comfortable and reliable pair of shoes.
If you pop back in to your local store and you can either get them replaced or get a refund. I am hoping that this is a one off experience and would recommend giving them another go.

i was looking for a pair of shoes for work. i am on my feet all day and i have problems with my feet, so look for something sturdy and comfortable. these completely fit the bill. i will definitely buy some more of these.
soft around the ankle.
I bought these over a pair of boots as they are more suited to the type of walking that I am doing. On the foot they feel like a beefy trail running shoe, as you might expect.
I've yet to give them a serious test but after a couple of months of use they still look virtually brand new so I expect them to be tough.
The lacing system is secure and they are pretty weatherproof, despite not having a waterproof membrane. As a result they can get quite warm.
Lightweight (compared to boot), durable.
I have tested this shoes in a forest and grass terrain. I have tested them in a 2 hours rain and they stay dry inside even after walking in a wet grass, even withot gaiters. Very comfortable inside but a little heavier. I guess it is because of the crosscontact sole. The sole works very well on dry and wet mud ot dry rock but it starting to slip on a wet rock.
Stay dry inside, very comfortable
a little heavier, but with very good drip
Previously wore an older pair of this type of shoe from Decathlon so when they nearing the end of their useful lifespan I automatically went back for another pair. These were the closest to what I previously wore and the exact same size. The right shoe felt a bit tight around the toe area on trying them on, but I purchased them anyway assuming they would maybe stretch slightly with a bit of time. Unfortunately they havent. My previous pair had ample space and were the exact same size. Never had issues with different size feet before!
Sturdy shoe, quick tie laces
Right shoe size slightly small
Thanks for your feedback on the Helium hiking shoes. I apologise for the discomfort caused from the pair you have recently purchased. I am certain we can exchange the model for you for another pair so see if it rectifies the problem, failing that we can look at a different model. Either drop into your local store or get in touch with our customer loyalty team online.

Used these on a recent trip to Arizona and Utah, hiking across some of the National Parks. Did exactly what i wanted them to do: hiking on uneven paths, climbing the odd bolder and a bit of minor climbing.
