5
Recommended additional product
Care products: spray or liquid to reactivate water repellent properties. To restore the water repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of the garment throughout its lifetime. We recommend using these products with each wash.
6
Thermal comfort and wind-proofing
Wind decreases the perceived temperature considerably. With an outside temperature of 0°C and a 20 km/h wind, the perceived temperature will be -10°C. The so-called "windproof" components eliminate the discomfort associated with the "wind chill" effect. They are very effective at reducing heat loss by creating a barrier against the wind.
7
Water repellent property of the component (not to be confused with the waterproofing)
A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water keeping it lightweight and warm. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every wash). We sell products for this purpose in our stores. All the Quechua Softshell items have received a water-repellent treatment.
8
How to restore the water repellent property?

9
Breathability
The main fabric used throughout the jacket, except at the sides, has a wind proof membrane with a breathability of 2814 g/m2 per 24 hrs (according to the JIS 1099 A standard).
10
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most environmentally-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Product test
Quechua is based at the foot of the Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our design teams create and develop simple good-looking high-tech products. These are then tested in the field in collaboration with our technical partners and mountain professionals under the toughest possible conditions. We believe it's only through rigorous testing in real-life conditions, identical to those you will experience, that we can continue to improve our products.

Maintenance tips
Wash at 40°C. Do not use fabric softener, tumble dry, or iron.
