Thermal comfort and windproof
The wind causes the perceived temperature to decrease considerably.
With an outside temperature of 0° and 20 km/h winds, it will feel like the temperature is -10°.
"Windproof" components help eliminate the discomfort linked to this "freezing effect". They are very effective at reducing heat loss by creating a barrier against the wind.
Water repellent property of the component (not to be confused with the waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to let the water slide off its surface, without absorbing it.In this way, the fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight and warm. The water-repellent property is obtained by applying a treatment to the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment (we recommend each wash).Products for this are available in our stores. All Quechua Softshell jackets are water-repellent.
How to reactivate the water repellent property?
Follow the guide:
The main fabric used for the jacket, except at the sides, has a wind proof membrane with a breathability of 2814 g/sqm per 24 hrs (according to the JIS 1099 A standard).
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The products’ environmental impacts are calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, rucksacks, etc.)
Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating system.
