Recommended additional product
Care products: spray or liquid for restoring water resistance. To restore the water resistance of the fabric and optimise the performance of your garment throughout its lifespan. We recommend using these products with each wash.
Comfortably warm and windproof
The wind makes the perceived temperature drop considerably.
With an outside temperature of 0°C and 20 km/h winds, it will feel like the temperature is -10°C.
The so-called “windproof” components cancel out this uncomfortable wind chill. By creating a barrier against the wind, they are very good at reducing heat loss.
Water repellent property of the component (not to be confused with the waterproofing)
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. A fabric is made water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every wash). We sell products for this purpose in our stores. All the Quechua Softshell items have received a water-repellent treatment.
How to restore the water repellent property?
Follow the guide:
The main fabric used throughout the jacket, except at the sides, has a wind proof membrane with a breathability of 2814 g/sqm per 24 hrs (according to the JIS 1099 A standard).
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. An overall ABCDE rating is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing and contrasting products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.).
Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating initiative.

Quechua is based at the foot of the Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our design teams create and develop simple good-looking high-tech products. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field in collaboration with our technical partners and mountain professionals.
