Technical Information

What makes the Tarmak R700 and its Magic Jam so special?
The Tarmak R700 ball is incredible and one of a kind. Balls that slip out of your hands, barely bounce, and can't be repaired are a real pain. We wanted to offer a solution. This ball has a synthetic leather outer and contains a green gel made of rubber microparticles that get sucked into holes by the air outside the ball and not only fill but also reinforce these areas. This stops too much pressure being lost so that you can keep playing. We've named this gel Magic Jam.
Is the R700 really puncture-proof?
The Tarmak R700 ball won't go flat for up to 10 punctures of 2 mm in diameter. If you find a hole, bounce the ball at least 10 times. This causes the Magic Jam to move around and fill in the hole before hardening on contact with air. If the ball loses too much pressure, simply re-inflate it (to 0.62 bar for ideal bounce).
How much should you inflate your basketball?
A basketball that is overinflated or underinflated doesn't give you the best match experience. The recommended pressure is clearly marked on the ball by the manufacturer. Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge so that you can be more precise. At Tarmak, we recommend a pressure of 0.62 bar. Enjoy your match!
What ball should you use?
The ball size depends on the player's age and sex. Baby basketball: size 1 to 3. Girls and boys under 10: size 5. Girls aged 10 and up, women, and boys aged 10 to 12: size 6. Boys over 12 and men: size 7.If you want a very durable ball, go for a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good feel, leather or synthetic are the right materials.
What height basket should you choose?
The official height of a basketball basket is 3.05m (rim height). If you want a basketball basket for your child, you need something that will grow with them. For younger kids there isn't an official height so you can choose whatever suits them best. Up to the age of 10, club baskets are set at 2.60m. After the age of 10, both girls and boys play with 3.05m baskets

Top class basketball!
Used for 7 to 12 months
Like the feel and grip of the basketball – good to use it for regular games / practice sessions! The different colours available looks good as well!
Looks and feels great!
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
The grip on the ball is very similar to the balls usedd in professional tournaments (Molten, Nivea, etc) I use it in my team practices as it helps us get used to the balls that are usually used in matches. Need to be inflated well though. Color scheme is a little unconventional - popular with the younger ages!

Very Lousy Quality
Used for 3 to 6 months
1. I bought in Aug and only started using in Sep in a sheltered outdoor court. The grip was good but the bounce was uneven. I clean it after each use.
2. Middle of Sep after 4 court trips and 8 hours of play, the edges of the synthetic material started fraying and coming out.
3. By Oct, it was fraying too much and a lot of the material are flapping about so I brought to a cobbler to glue them back.
4. By middle Oct, air is escaping thru the pump hole and the ball needs to be pump every 10days
5. By Nov and after a dozen uses (24hrs+), more materials frayed and a second trip to the cobbler is needed to fixed the problem as it’s affecting the shot
6. By Dec after 20uses (40+hours), the top layer has worn out a bit and started soaking in sweat. The ball after an hour of use is wet and heavy and becomes unusable. Not to mention the material started coming unglued in other areas again.
7. 3 months in and I’m looking for another ball.
8. I strictly would not recommend despite it being cheap unless you wanna feel cheated.
unbelievably good - just get it!!

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I play in a league and bought this to practice my shot on outdoor courts because it is cheap and it looks and feels so nice. It's actually better than balls used in national league. I can't recommend highly enough, I use in on indoor courts now and will be buying another one soon. Wonderful ball, better than famous brand name balls. Much better than any other ball at Decathlon - sorry, Decathlon, your other balls are very good for learning basketball, just nowhere near as good as this one
Grip is exceptional, looks good
Used for 1 week or less
Excellent grip, the fact that its durable for indoors and outdoors makes it worth it.

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
its worth to effort
