Technical Information

1
Waterproofness of the garment
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 l of wtr/sqm/h for 2hThis test reproduces the average conditions of rain showerThe fabric of this jacket has water repellent propertiesfabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping inThis prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathableThe water-repellent effect is achieved by using a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric In addition we sealed 100% of the seams
2
How to maintain the waterproofness of your jacket long-term
In order to retain the item’s sustained, long-term waterproof properties, the water repellency of the fabric will need to be reactivated: we recommend every 3 washes, or after a dozen uses in the rain. When washing, abundant rinsing is essential, then reactivating the water repellent properties can easily be done in hot water: or with your tumble dryer or hair dryer for example, for a short time. You will find all our tips in the maintenance manual of this product sheet.
3
Additional recommended products
Raincut over-trousers to also protect the lower body and in this way you’ll have a very effective complete outfit to protect against wind and showers.
4
Hi-tech lining
Mesh body lining to enhance the garment's breathability this lining also makes it much more pleasant in contact with the skin.
5
Waterproof rating expressed in mm or Schmerber
The resistance of a fabric is measured using water pressure expressed in water column mm (test based on ISO 811). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with an impermeability of 2,000mm therefore resists a pressure exerted by 2,000mm of water
6
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more the fabric lets water vapour generated by body movements escape, therefore the more breathable it is. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9

A rating to compare the environmental impact of the products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entirety of its life-cycle and with different indicators. An overall score of ABCDE is calculated to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks...). Decathlon is a voluntary participant in this environmental labelling initiative. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Exactly what I was looking for: light, comfortable, non-selective and not hideous. Not tested in drenching rain yet but kept me dry in s shower. Very happy.

Just wonder why the mens version of this jacket has (a) an inside pocket which the womens version does not, and (b) why the mens version has a Velcro strap on the back of the hood so it can be pulled back, the womens doesn't and (b) the mens version has Velcro on the cuffs.. do the designers think for some reason that women don't also need these things??
