Technical Information

1
Crosscontact sole
The sole design is the product of a lengthy research and development process conducted in our laboratories, combined with a special rubber formulation to optimise grip and traction. Given the range of different needs, we are always seeking the best compromise for walking on both wet and dry terrain.
2
Waterproofing test
Footwear waterproofing test: these boots, which have been tested in the laboratory and the field, have a breathable, waterproof membrane for optimum protection in the rain. First, the boot is immersed in water while the air pressure inside is increased to check that no bubbles form on the surface. They are half immersed and then placed on a mechanical arm that simulates walking: we then check that the inside of the shoe remains perfectly dry.
3
Waterproofing level
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (around 4 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (around 8 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (around 16 hours of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry. The MH100 waterproof shoe passed the test involving 4000 flexes.
4
Prolonging the waterproof properties
A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, we recommend wearing waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters to protect the top part of the boots and prevent water, pebbles, sand, etc. from getting inside. To restore the original water repellent properties and prevent staining the outer surface, spray with a waterproof spray several times per year.
5
Buying tips
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Always walk around the store. Wear your shoes in gradually during the first hikes, to mould them to your foot.
6
What shoe size should I choose?
For hiking, try taking one shoe size up from your usual to ensure optimum comfort when going downhill and to prevent your toes from hitting the toe box. Tip: before any descent, make sure that your toe nails are clipped and that your laces are tightened so that your feet cannot slide forwards in the boot.
7
Field test
All our boots are tested in real-life conditions by testers who are representative of the target customer to ensure that they fit properly and are comfortable in use. Our Missions Tests link the product manager up with people who are not affiliated to Quechua to test, develop and approve the products.
8
Laboratory Testing
Other laboratory tests are also conducted to pass the following: tearing resistance of the eyelets and straps, resistance of adhesives, toxicology, UV resistance, to abrasion of the outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing.

So comfy but only 1 flaw which is non-breathable
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I do understand the fact that waterproof shoes are not meant to be breathable but this is the 3rd generation product I am using so I can pretty much qualify to have an opinion on the fact. Earlier ones were not that comfortable but were a lot more breathable and I had worn them for more than 30 hours at a stretch so my humble request would be to work on the same.
Good For Hiking and Treking

Nice shoe ...but didnt last well
Used for More than 1 year
Bought these as lightweight all weather dog walking shoes. Like the weight and grippy soles. However the right shoe showed deterioration along leading edge of toe protector and sole started to part with upper. Culminated yesterday with sole coming away from upper about first 3rd of the shoe. Bought them last July and have been only used daily for walking the dogs. Disappointed as liked the shoe !
shoes not fit for trekking
Used for 1 week or less
i was going for a trek which had rocks and since it had rained it was going to slippery. I checked with the decathlon person standing there and he recommended that this shoes should be good. I started trekking and realised this is the worst choice. I slipped 5 times and this being a mountainous terrain , the slips could have been disastrous. Just not suitable for trekking especially slippery surfaces. And shame on the decathlon staff who recommeded this. He could have cost somebody's life. Also since it was raining, had to wade through water. The shoes are still wet , even after two days of trek.

Slips A LOT!
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Hi,
Bought these shoes about a month back, through the fit is among the best i've experienced so far, one issues that's been worrying me is that i bought them specifically for light hiking trips and regardless of what the crossmesh tech etc claims, the grip is very poor indeed, the shoes slip a lot on wet surfaces and i've has endure an embarrassing fall or two on plain surfaces.. so i'm highly skeptical about taken them along for a real hike.. please help?

Repeat purchase
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
18 months previous I bought a similar style, wore them nearly every day and they only just fell apart. The longest any shoes have lasted. So I bought another pair
Not Satisfactory
Used for 1 week or less
Have used this shoes for 8-10 days and specially bought it for hiking but when I used it slips like anything for any kind of surface. It's good that Decathlon has exchanged this and said there might be manufacturing defect.

Best suited for the purpose
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Did a trek in heavy rains through and under huge water falls and through the rain forest area at Harishchandragad in Maharashtra. Had a little issue of slipping on moss surface. But that’s okay. Takes time me to dry than normal. All in all a very good product
Before u set foot to hike or climb
