Technical Information

How do you adjust your poles?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust: unscrew the middle section, beneath the ring on the lower section, adjust to desired height (in centimetres), and screw back on securely, but not too tight, then do the same with the lower section. NEVER GO OVER THE STOP LINE or the pole may snap during use.
Directions for use
Before heading off: always check that your poles are properly tightened. You can adjust your poles to make them longer on downward slopes or if pushing vigorously in the mountains. When walking uphill, you can use the wrist loop for support, but when walking downhill, it's better to remove the strap so that the pole won't get it your way if you fall.
Comes with a removable summer hiking (small diameter) basket. Compatible with wider, winter baskets.

Our field testers: all our poles are tested in the field by users representative of our target market in real-life conditions. During our "Mission Tests" the product manager works with individuals who have no affiliation with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.

Product test
We carry out bending and compression tests on the full-length poles in our labs, to ensure they remain effective and can withstand the strain if the hiker has to lean on them heavily. Tests are also carried out to assess how the tightening systems cope with pulling, tightening and repeated stress, and pull tests on the tips and handles simulate poles getting stuck when in use.

Stockage tips
Store the poles in a dry place, do not tighten the attachments.

Response of the brand
Hello Sheetal,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Trekking poles. We are extremely sorry about the unpleasant experience you have had with our product. This pole is designed for people looking for a light pole. The 60% of carbon makes it lighter and 40% of aluminum blended to be durable. All our poles are tested in the laboratory as well by users in the field to ensure the quality of the product. In your case, it could have happened due to the usage or an error from our end in manufacturing.

I would request you to bring the poles to any of your nearest Decathlon Stores so that we could check and help you with an exchange.

Please write back to me for any further information:)

Great poles
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Used poles walking the AV2 Gran Paradiso, they coped very well on the very steep terrain and through snow & boulder fields. Found them very durable and easy to collapse. After 8 days walking they're still in one piece.
