I was given 3-person kayak as a present & have had 1 trip, which was great. Downside is that advice on storage is very poor. It seems impossible to dry the inner lining of the floor compartment! I fear that it will grow mould when stored. I cannot find where to get advice about this. Surely Itiwit could provide a comprehensive advice manual?
Pleasantly surprised by this. I found it very stable (unlikely to capsize) and responsive (easy to paddle, even for children). It only took around 10 mins to inflate and is far more rigid than I expected.
My biggest worry was that the seats may lack back support, but they are rigid enough so you can keep a good paddling posture. This means you can row for a couple of hours without discomfort (as opposed to 10mins if the seats lack support!).
The shape wasn't symmetrical, which made it difficult to row in a straight line. I partially deflated the 3 chambers and jiggled them around under the outer skin (there are 2 full-length zips that enable you to do this). This seemed to fix the problem.
It has 3 seats but is a bit of a squeeze for 3 adults, but 2 adults and 1 child can manage fine.
It fits into a rucksack but is bit heavy to carry very far.
I only found the instructions in a side pocket after I'd already used it 3 times, which shows I didn't even need them!
Robust, stable in the water - even with 2 kids wriggling about arguing who is sitting in the front!!!! Quick to inflate and pack away into purpose designed ruck sack bag.
We love our kayak inflates and deflates quickly my husband can’t believe the quality and rigidity of it and wishes we’d brought one years ago. Handles well on the river yet to try on the coast
Would highly recommend. No problems as yet.
Bought the Itiwit 3 person Kayak and all the accessories, brilliant service and delivered exactly on time.
The Kayak is absolutely outstanding and I was so worried, we live in Cornwall and wanted something for the sea and I could not praise it enough, so well made, easy to set up and so stable and safe at sea. Doubt very much you could find better for the price.
Thanks again Decathlon for your great service.
Had lots of fun with this product a very good kayak well made and great on the water no negative comments to make
USED THIS TWICE NOW, IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE BOX. VERY EASY TO INFLATE AND DEFLATE. ITS A NICE DESIGN AND GETS LOTS OF COMMENTS. THE KIDS LOVE IT.
This is a great inflatable canoe, at a reasonable price. I would recommend it anyone who wants to get out on the water but can't afford or doesn't have space to store a rigid boat. We have only had ours for few weeks but already taken it on several trips. The large air bladders create a very stable boat even when going down some small rapids.
We bought the 3 person canoe. I'm 6'2" and found that there isn't much space for legs when all 3 seats are used, but it is comfortable for 2.
the bottom of the boat does collect water, (drips from paddles, rain etc.) which can be difficult to get out on the riverside so expect the boot of your car to get wet.
The storage bag is nice a big so packing away is easy.
very well made
I have taken this kayak on a 10 day, two-person kayak and camping trip down canals and rivers and found it to be spacious and durable. It moves well in the water and is very stable. We used the Itiwit 4-piece paddles which packed down to a small size and were easy to assemble. Whilst we didn't get any punctures while the kayak was inflated we got a puncture while the kayak was being folded up and stored due to the slightly sharp underside of one of the valves digging into the other side of the bladder when folded leading to a small tear in the right bladder. When we went to use the repair kit we found that the self-adhesive patches came off once inflated and that there was no glue to attach the regular patches over the hole. Luckily we had gaffer tape which made for a good temporary fix before we found somewhere that sold the right glue. This issue could be solved on future models by putting some rubber on the underside of the valves to prevent tearing in storage (and also providing glue in the repair kit!).
Apart from this issue the kayak has been a great investment- it could easily fit two people plus all of our camping gear and still sat high enough in the water to traverse very shallow stretches of river. The bag is sturdy although it could be improved with proper shoulder straps as with the weight of the kayak the straps really dig in. The seats are comfortable and the whole kayak can be inflated and set up in 10mins. Overall a good kayak to travel with!
