Technical Information

What makes the Wizzy Tarmak ball better for children learning to play basketball?
Basketball is sport that requires dexterity and agility. To make learning easier for children, we created a ball that is 18% lighter than other balls of the same size. This makes shooting and passing easier when starting out. The outer cover has a foam layer, making it softer than other balls. Little hands won't be hurt, which will help your child build their confidence.
The Wizzy: The perfect ball for playing with the Hoop!
The Wizzy Tarmak is the ideal ball for playing with the Tarmak Hoop (which can be set up anywhere). The Wizzy is a size 5 basketball that is lighter than a classic ball. It is the right size for the Hoop and means that any player, particularly younger children, can shoot from farther away! The Wizzy balls range is designed to match the Hoops range so you can be completely coordinated!
For a good bounce, how much should you inflate your basketball?
A basketball that is overinflated or underinflated doesn't give you the best match experience. The recommended pressure is clearly marked on the ball by the manufacturer. Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge so that you can be more precise. At Tarmak, we recommend a pressure of 0.62 bar. Enjoy your match!
What ball should you use?
The ball size depends on the player's age and gender. Baby basketball: size 1 to 3. Girls and boys under 10: size 5. Girls aged 10 and up, women, and boys aged 10 to 12: size 6. Boys over 12 and men: size 7.If you want a very durable ball, go for a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good feel, leather or synthetic are best.
What height basket should you choose?
The official height of a basketball basket is 3.05m (rim height). If you want a basketball basket for your child, you need something that will grow with them. For younger kids there isn't an official height so you can choose whatever suits them best. Up to the age of 10, club baskets are set at 2.60m. After the age of 10, both girls and boys play with 3.05m baskets.
