I got this watch as birthday present from my with after much pointing to it in the shop and saying buy me that one. Imagine my surprise when I got It for my birthday. My initial impressions are that it is a good watch with some very useful features. It is simple to use and works reliably. It displays pace, time and speed information reliably. The HRM works really well. Like 99% of users I got this watch due to it's ability to interface with strava via myGeonaute connect. This is where the niggles come in. The watch transfers all of my run data to Decathlon Coach and automatically adds it to Strava. There is a discrepancy between the decathlon coach information and the strava information shown. In many cases this can be several seconds and tens of metres missing. The impact of this is, if you run 5k when your workout tranfers to strava it says that you have run 4.9k. Keeping track of progress then becomes difficult. I contacted the support line and they told me the problem was with strava. This didn't really help as I bought the watch because of the strava interface. One solution is to export the GPX file from decathlon coach and manually upload it to strava, when you do this the information is corrected on Strava, suggesting that the problem is in fact with the interface. Who can be bothered doing this every time you want to update strava. My Strava profile now has several runs not complete or sessions finished early, I am never going to be an international athlete but I do get annoyed when my PB's are missed or my sessions are recorded as finishing early. In summary this is a good watch but it is far from flawless.
I am using the OnMove500 for more than a year. The watch is fine for outdaor sport, but have to main problem. 1. The haert rate presentage is not accurate. It present the % from the Max 240 per min rate, and not from the Max rate which i set according my age (which is 168). Therfore when my rate is 120, i have only 50% haert rate.
2. The heart rate sensor does not work good on indor sport. I do a lot of spining and the heart rate prsents low rates, even when i am with high pulse. It some time lose the pulse at all and go down for 68 during the training.
I cant transfer data for my smartphone Please fix!

I seldom give reviews for products unless I'm absolutely impressed.
This GPS watch is a must have it is even better than popular brands and for the price it is fantastic value for money.
My friend has a very popular brand GPS watch and after seeing mine he also wishes he knew about the Onmove 500 because it would have saved him loads of money.
Features are awesome and what you get for the price is fabulous too.
If you're still sitting on the fence dithering wether to buy this or not, allow me to help you make the decision.... Buy it, you'll love it.
GPS is fast.Distance and speed is accurate. My first HRM watch so don't know how to read it but the reading seems OK. Very fast delivery service, within 3days i got it. Warranty issues were rightfully taken up by the customer desk at the Guwahati Store(India). Very happy.
Used it for a week and got fed up with it. Never wanted to connect to transfer data and when it did it was wrong.

Many complain of the bluetooth connectivity and yes, it's a nuisance. The trick is your phone has to have it's bluetooth visible during each connect. Check your phone's manual/website on how to do this. Yes, the interface to Strava is not every 5 minutes - give it an hour. But within the Decathloncoach website the information is REALLY helpful with HR tracking mapping against the run. I can finally see (and believe) some HR data. Other tiny criticism is the tiny printing in the manual, the fact that the online manual is not the same one and doesn't cover half what I want to know but with a watch glass and the paper one I can get the answers I want. Also the "/km" type legends on the screen are far too small to be of any use to anyone of 40. (I'm 63 and this was my b'day present to me)
Bought at Braehead store on trip to Highlands and used immediately. No cable in box, backlight not working and used before as previous persons routes were still in logbook. Other than backlight issue the watch does what it should.
I recently purchased the onmove 500 as I wanted something to track my average speeds/times/bpm of my commutes to work. I own a different selection of bikes so didn't want a cycle computer and I'm not a fan of these modern apps so a gps watch seemed like a nice way to see what I was doing on my daily commutes. It's simple to use and see each workout on the watch (I haven't uploaded it, don't think I ever will) so does what I wanted it to!! At a good price too!!
