Technical Information

Suitable clothing
The body generates heat during exercise. This is retained thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If you do not have the right clothing, the body will cool down and the blood flow to the hands will drop in order to retain heat in the central core. So, to keep your hands comfortable, you need the right gloves and clothing. If in doubt, take a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
Temperature rating = -4°C
The ambient temperature that:all the testers claimed was acceptable. This is -4°C for these fingerless mittens
Limit temperature rating = -10°c
The ambient temperature thatall the testers claimed was acceptable. This is -10°C for these fingerless mittens
Glove dexterity
The dexterity of a glove is its ability to manipulate objects. Our gloves have been rated in the lab on a scale of 1 to 5. The closer the glove's dexterity rating gets to 5, the more the glove can handle objects like a bare hand. In particular, we tested how easy it is to get your jacket on and unfasten it with these fingerless gloves
How is the use temperature measured?
All our gloves are lab-tested on a thermal hand. The temperature ratings are valid if you are walking/wearing suitable clothing. The body produces heat during exercise that is preserved by the thermal insulation of your clothes. If you are not wearing the right clothing, the body will cool down and blood flow to the hands will drop to keep the central core warm. The normal/limit temperature ratings were assessed by 23 testers in temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and in 10 km/h winds.
100% Windproof
The gloves have a 100% windproof membrane, ideal for retaining heat, even in high winds.

Product test
Our design team is based at the foot of the Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are appealing, simple and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field because we believe that the only way to continually improve our products is to test them under the real-life conditions that you will experience.

Magnets interfere with compass
Used for 1 week or less
Well made glove, nicer material than the previous version, which used a windbloc fleece as opposed to softshell material.

However for mountaineering, hill walking or trekking, where you need to use a compass, the magnetic catch on these gloves interferes strongly with the compass. my compass rotated 90 degrees off bearing due to the magnet.
The previous version used velcro.

I'll be returning this pair of mitt's/gloves and ordering the 'hunting' version which is the same as the old version of this mitt/glove but in green.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Just what I needed, and the magnetic catch makes switching between mittens and fingerless gloves much more convenient. Would be even happier if they came in x small (or kids).
Trek 500 mittens
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Great glove really warm
Great glove but size up
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I wanted a glove for taking photos. This seemed very well priced and with the magnetic fold back mitt section it makes for a great package
They are however very small made I ended up with a 2xl ( I am normally just a large )
The thumb price is a little tight but on the whole these gloves are excellent
Oh but they are rubbish for snowballs though.
