Technical Information

1
Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled 75/25, the inflating power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power (the higher the CUIN) takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
2
The advantages of duck down and feather filling (for the back and front of the down jacket)
The swelling and long-lasting capacity of the down gives it 3 qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to trapped air in down and feathers - Ultra lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This enables less weight to be carried in the rucksack - Ultra compressible* Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat, we collect the feathers after their slaughter.
3
The advantages of synthetic down filling (for the arms, sides and hood)
The synthetic down (wadding) provides an interesting alternative to the feather: - it provides good thermal insulation even when wet - it provides a little breathability and may be recommended for dynamic activity (down is recommended for static or moderate activity)

Care instructions for a down jacket with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking on the link below: http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket
5
In the event of rain
This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It allows drops of water to roll over the fabric, which means it takes longer for water to penetrate the jacket, giving you time to get to shelter. But the jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
6
Note regarding the light colour versions
The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the lightest jackets.
7
A way to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impacts of the product are calculated over its entire life cycle and with the variety of indicators. An overall ABCDE score is allocated to help you more readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Test
All our down jackets are laboratory tested with 5 km/h wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved t-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, enabling you to make the choice that best fits your use.

Product test
Thermal chamber test It validates our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we can adapt our thermal insulation where you most need it. Feather impermeability test We use a test machine to ensure that the feathers do not escape from your jacket during your activities. So our fabrics are "sealed" with the feathers to ensure a lasting heat.

Stockage tips
Store on a hanger in a clean and dry place

Maintenance tips
Caring for down jackets requires special attention. We recommend using specialist dry cleaning services for the care of your down jacket. Washing: machine wash at 30°C, add 2 tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetic programme with three tennis balls to ventilate the down, put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, losing insulating power.
