Technical Information

Feather origin
Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our responsible material commitments. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: with equal warmth, feather is lighter than synthetic wadding. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible
Fill Power of the down/feather filling
For this down jacket with its 85/15 filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 800 CUIN (European standard). The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" a certain volume of air. Down with higher fill power (a higher CUIN number) takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
Care instructions for jackets filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow the instructions by clicking the link below:
In the event of rain
The material of this padded jacket is water-repellent. It makes drops of water run off the surface, which delays the time it takes for water to get inside the down jacket, giving you time to get out of the rain. However, we advise you to wear a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
How to reactivate the water repellent property?

10 trekkers (5 men and 5 women), who are not linked to Quechua, tested this down jacket for a week of trekking in November 2016, in the Mont Blanc mountain range. The feedback given to us after this test has enabled us to validate this down jacket for mountain trekking.

Product test
All our down jackets are laboratory tested with 5 km/h wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, enabling you to make the choice that best fits your use.

Not warm enough
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I purchased it for my wife but it didn't serve her purpose even in 5 degree Celsius. I have used several products of decathlon but never once was dissapointed except for this time.
Response of the brand
Hello Sir,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding the Fulldown Jacket. We are sorry to hear that the product did not serve the purpose we have committed to you. We have designed this jacket with 90% of Duck down feather thus making it the lightest in our range. It has been tested in real trekking condition as well as in the laboratory to be used at -5 degree provided you are wearing sufficient layers underneath(L1- A quick dry t-shirt, L2- Fleece)
Also, do not forget to cover your head, hand, and foot to avoid heat loss. I hope this information helps you. Kindly revert back to me if you still face the issue.

I remain available for any further queries :)

Cosy Jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This item was bought for an elderly relative who said it was really warm and cosy.
Not warm enough if you aren't moving
Used for 7 to 12 months
Wore this to the Himalayan region in India, where the temperature was as low as -5 degrees celsius. Despite its 800 fill power, note that the amount of down in the jacket is very little (only 70g for size S).

Even though I wore 2 woollen layers -- one of which included an Icebreaker merino wool base layer -- and a fleece jacket inside, I found that it was not warm enough for sleeping or if you aren't moving, although it may be suitable if you're doing aerobic activities, such as cycling or hiking.

Suitable for city use, where you won't be out in the cold so often.
Trek 500 Women's Mountain Trekking Down Jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
The Jacket came out a little over sized which isn't a bad thing as able to wear a solid jumper underneath. I like the extra length from my other down jackets as it keep my lower back and backside warm
Great value for money
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Fast efficient service. Product as described and super value for money.
Beautiful, fabulous, comfortable
Used for 1 week or less
Beautifully warm, and fabulous colour. Very comfortable to wear.
Great Jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I had the previous version of this jacket and loved it so much that I bought another one. I'm pleased to say that it is slightly longer now so just covers the bottom, and the two pockets are bigger too. It's a perfect fit and good quality for money. The only disappointment is that it did not come with a packaway bag and the two internal pockets have gone too - which is disappointing as found it very usual for carrying my phone.
So Light

Nice coat

It's just the right thickness for these current temps very comfy and true to size
Very lightweight and comfortable. As warm as expected and needs more layers if temperature is near freezing! Recommended!
