Additional recommended products
Care products: waterproof spray or liquid to be used in the machine to restore the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifetime of your garment. We recommend using these products with each wash.
7
How the recommended temperature is measured
Ambient temperature is thermally neutral: the user feels neither hot nor cold. Use temperature, in accordance with standard ISO 11079, under the following conditions: Walking at 4 km/h, no wind, cloudy. Jacket worn together with: (upper body) long sleeved t-shirt + shirt + sleeveless down gilet / (legs) tights + fleece long johns + trousers / (head) fur hat + hood / (hands) glove liners + gloves / (feet) ski socks + moon boots.
8
Waterproof component
We test a fabric's resistance to water pressure by measuring the height of a column of water supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means the fabric can withstand pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
9
Waterproofing of the garment
Technologies®: this garment passed a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains. Please visit Novadry.com for more information
10
Component water repellent property
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up moisture, keeping it lightweight and warm. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.
11
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9

A score for comparing the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. A general ABCDE rating is attributed to help you identify the best environmental performance by comparing products to each other (t-shirts, trousers, rucksacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/.

Product test
To help you dress effectively, Quechua - in partnership with Stratermic and Oxylane Research - provides you with recommended usage temperatures for its "extreme cold" product lines. Tests are carried out in an environmental chamber to measure the thermal insulating properties of products on a dummy. These results are complemented by physiological research carried out by Oxylane Research teams to calculate the sensation of hot/cold as if in real world use.

Stockage tips
Always make sure that this waterproof protective garment is completely dry before storing it.

Maintenance tips
Avoid frequent washing. Wash at 30°C with a small amount of washing product. Do not use fabric softener. Regularly restore full water repellent properties by applying suitable treatment (every or 3 washes). All our Decathlon stores offer a complete range of products designed specifically for treating waterproof fabrics
