Technical Information

1
Backpack technical tests.
We conduct lab tests to validate the following: fabric, buckles, straps, foam and zips. For example, for a fabric: resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour fastness in UV light and after washing, waterproofing, etc. Then the finished product undergoes an accelerated test replicating the stresses on the bag over several years to test the strength of the assemblies: we fill it with weights and place it on a dummy that reproduces thousands of fast walking movements.
2
10-year technical partnership warranty
The Strenfit component brand, Forclaz's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. These tests were conducted on the components, the seams and the finished product. The results of these tests are used by Quechua and Strenfit to guarantee the bags for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt.

How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Carry heavy gear (tent, stove, food) closest to your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Keep a rainproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Place small items that are needed during the day (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If you are carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
4
How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls into a graduated container to measure the equivalent volume in litres within a few percentage points. The indicated unloaded weight is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.
5
A score to compare the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing them with products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. 6
Why are our rain covers coloured grey?
The grey colour is neutral and therefore consumes less dye. The component is made of BITON: as a result, the environmental impact of the MT700 70L is 10% less than the former model: symbium access. By using dope-dye for the lining materials, much less water is consumed than a more brightly coloured fabric. It is by taking small measures of this kind that Forclaz is demonstrating its commitment to improve the environmental impact of its products.

Very comfortabl rucksack...
Used for 1 week or less
This one is the best product amongst all the backpack of this size in decathlon, shoulder straps are very comfortable gives you very good feel when you wear it and i recommend this type of bags over symbium style...
Pros:raincover(grey color), very comfortable, 1bottle holder, light weight in comparison to symbium
Cons: first of all the colors are not so attractive i must say and the two most important thing for me are... 1.No ice axe holder loops and
2.No over the lid strechable straps are provided to attach crampons etc which is very useful
But this things can be done on extra cost if you really need all things on this backpack stitch it from local bag Tailors as i need to do..
Overall this backpack is worth to buy it is perfect for trekkers just go for it....
Advice to Forclaz is that provide ice axe loops and crampons strechable straps over the lid compartment with all of your products specially this trek 700 series as these are high budget bags and should include all needed loops and straps.. And please change the color if possible make it dark grey or black... This bag have all the potential to rock the market of rucksack but only if forclaz do some necessary improvement...
Thankyou
