Technical Information

1
WHY HAS THE RUN COMFORT SHOE BEEN DESIGNED FOR JOGGING?
When you run, the shock wave generated by each impact with the ground corresponds to approximately 3 times your weight. The shock waves spread from the heel to the top of your spine. Your joints act as shock absorbers but they are put to the test. It is to protect you from shocks and impacts that we have designed the DECATHLON RUN COMFORT running shoe.
2
RUN COMFORT - YES! BUT WHY IS IT COMFORTABLE?
The comfort of the RUN COMFORT running shoe, specially designed for regular runners, is based on 3 elements: cushioning foam, user comfort and support.
3
WHY IS THERE CUSHIONING IN RUNNING SHOES?
In order to keep on running, you need to protect your body (joints, back, knees etc.) effectively from shocks and vibrations. The cushioning in the RUN COMFORT shoes has been designed to limit the impact of these repeated impacts on regular runners.
4
HOW IS CUSHIONING ENSURED IN RUN COMFORT RUNNING SHOES?
The cushioning in DECATHLON RUN COMFORT running shoes is provided by a sole made of exclusive, flexible and soft EVA (Ethylene vinyl acetate) foam which we have dubbed KALENSOLE, along with the 'Circular System' concept: an air hole in the foam at the heel enables more effective and uniform dispersion of the shock wave.
5
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE GOOD SUPPORT?
When you run, your foot must be supported for a number of reasons: preventing friction, irritation and blisters.
6
HOW IS SUPPORT ENSURED BY THE RUN COMFORT RUNNING SHOE?
Our RUN COMFORT running shoes are equipped with reinforcements at the back of the foot, as well as synthetic bands on the forefoot to envelope and support your feet during exercise.
7
HOW SHOULD I CHOOSE MY SIZE OF RUNNING SHOE?
In order to ensure optimum comfort with your RUN COMFORT shoes, choose a size bigger than your usual size. There should be 1 cm between your toe and the end of your shoes as your feet will swell during exercise.
8
WHAT DOES THE DROP OF A SHOE MEAN?
'Drop' is the difference between the height of the back (heel) and front (forefoot) of the shoe. To simplify things, a shoe with high heels will have a very high drop because the different in height between the front and back of the shoe is considerable, whereas the drop on a flip-flop will be zero.
9
WHAT IS THE DROP ON A RUN COMFORT RUNNING SHOE?
10mm height difference between front and back of sole
10
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY RUN COMFORT RUNNING SHOES?
We recommend that you avoid machine washing your shoes as this causes damage to the technological and material properties of the shoe, they may come unstuck or shrink, and upper fabric may tear. When shoes are very dirty (mud), we recommend washing them with soapy water and a synthetic brush. Above all, avoid bleach! Rinse in fresh water. Do not leave your shoes to dry too close to a source of heat.
11
WHAT IS THE WEIGHT OF A RUN COMFORT RUNNING SHOE?

Used for 1 week or less
These are very good running shoes; i do not feel knee fatigue that much after running with these shoes compared to running with normal sport shoes
Perfect for my 1 hour of Cardio
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I bought these shoes for treadmill and to wear to the gym. They fit very well. My size was avsilavai (11.5 UK). Good comfort and good looks as well. Whether these are suited for running on road or track I am not sure. I find them perfect for cardio and gymming.
Excellant
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Both look and comfort excellent, enjoying the daily jog
Not good for long distance running
Used for 1 week or less
Contrary to what has been claimed here, I just tried a 2 km run after ordering them ( Btw, I am a long distance runner ). If you compare them with the likes of Nike, they are really not very good on the sole comfort part.

My Nike ( Downshifter 5.0 ) pair is a bit old and I wanted to try out something different. I ordered 9.5 size and the shoe fits perfectly well. When running on concrete the sole experiences tremendous vibrations and this leads to shin splint issues in the anterior portion of the lower leg.

I have ordered a return of the product and would shift back to good old Nike.
Response of the brand
Hello Siddharth,

Thanks for taking the time to write to us.

Answering to your concern, as you are a long distance runner, would be knowing that running for a 2KM won't lead to a Shin splint unless the below mentioned thing are not respected.

1. Breaking into new running shoes
2. Running without Warm-up or inadequate stretching
3. Overpronation
4. Weak ankles, hips, or core muscles

As this shoes is meant for neutral feet, for running 7 KM 3 times a week, which has "Kalensole" an advanced sole with better cushioning, seamless for better comfort, flexibility, support and better grip, so normally there should not be any problem if you are training for short distance, for long distance running we would like to suggest the below mentioned shoes.

Hope I was able to answer your concern. For further assistance, please feel free to write back to us.

Excellent for beginners. Very comfy
Used for 3 to 6 months
Very light and comfortable. Superb cushioning. I live in Manchester, UK and the the roads and hard. However, with these shoes, they make road running a pleasant and comfortable experience. Great for shock absorption and good ventilation. One of the best running shoes i have had. Just make sure you a a neutral runner and you ca't go wrong. Highly recommended.
Kalenji running shoes
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I bought these running shoes as they had good reviews. I am very pleased with them, the fit is great, they are very comfortable and provide the right support.
Good shoe
Used for 1 week or less
I purchased this shoe from the direct outlet. Observations as below:
1) The shoe is comfortable, But once I started walking with it, my feet felt very warm. The sales person had said that the shoe can breathe air, but it hardly does.I had to remove the show after some time to get some air.
2) There is a bulge in both the shoes where the arch of your feet will sit. I felt that the arch in the right shoe was slightly more which was slightly inconvenient wile walking. Is this a defect or is this how it is designed ? Can the Decathlon expert reading this please comment? If it is a defect, i hope I can get it immediately changed.
3) Price wise the Show seems to be reasonable. Also felt that the shoe is strong and can last longer than 2 years if maintained properly.
4) Lace may be short and that's irritating. Also Decathlon does not stock extra lace. Why is it so? Decathlon expert reading this please comment?
5) The show tongue is slightly short, and you cant pull it out like Nike or Reebok. That could give a feel that the show is not holding tight.
6) Look wise it is not a eye catcher, But it is a good product overall and serves the purpose.
