Technical Information

1
Backpack technical tests.
We conduct lab tests to validate the following: fabrics, buckles, straps, foams, zips, etc. Example, for a fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, colour-fastness under UV rays, washing, waterproofing, etc. A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: The backpack is weighted, then placed on a dummy which reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles.
2
10-year technical partnership warranty
The Strenfit component brand, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. These tests were conducted on the components, the seams and the finished product. The results of these tests are used by Quechua and Strenfit to guarantee the bags for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt.

How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Carry heavy gear (tent, stove, food) closest to your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap, the tent goes under the bag if it doesn't fit inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, spread out the small equipment you use during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc). If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
4
How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls into a graduated container to measure the equivalent volume in litres within a few percentage points. The net weight is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.
5
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most environmentally-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
6
Why are our rain covers coloured grey?
The grey colour is neutral and therefore consumes less dye. The component is made of BITON: as a result, the environmental impact of the MT900 90L is 7.3% less than the former model: symbium access. By using dope-dye for the lining materials, much less water is consumed than a more brightly coloured fabric. It is by taking small measures of this kind that Forclaz is demonstrating its commitment to improve the environmental impact of its products.

Was doubtful at first but am more than satisfied
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
When I was purchasing this product I was doubtful about its carrying load capacity as the back straps have a velcro attachment, but the bag performed very well on field and I never had an issue with the back straps. As for the capacity the bag has more than sufficient volume to store all the essentials and the ease of accessibility is as good as it can get. Also a bonus it has tilted bottle compartments for easily getting your bottle out and has a removable hood (capacity 10L) to be used as a napsack.
Fantastic Backpack
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Very thoughtfully designed. The fabric used is very strong and cannot be worn out even if the bag touches the thorns or spiky bushes on the trail/hike. The Hood can be separated and used as a day bag. The space is larger than life. Using it for 17 days 480kms project and will be using it for 21 days Everest Base Camp and Annapurna 100 Ultra Trail Race. Adequate space for Tents, Sleeping bags, Yoga Mats. The back support has brilliant cushioning and a good snug fit so one doesn't get pain even if you hike for more than 7 hours a day. If you are an avid backpacker, this should be on your bucket list!
Just received it today... Very good product
Used for 1 week or less
I like this product its very sturdy and strong product and it has a complete detachable lid compartment of 10litre capacity like symbium..
It's other name is symbium 900 and trek 900 90+10ltr..
One thing i didn't like about this product is that it doesn't provide extra compartment at bottom for sleeping bags or shoes etc like Symbium70+10ltr or trek-700.... But the main compartment is very good and one thing i also want to little bit of overpriced....
