Made for Our team of enthusiastic desert trekkers designed these trousers for trekkers planning to walk for several successive days in the desert Trousers for trekking in the desert. The gaiters of these trousers are suitable for walking in dunes comfortably!
These trousers are designed for treks in the desert and particularly sand deserts.
To stop sand getting in, there is:
- lightweight gaiters (invisible if you do not need them) that attaches over the Desert 500 boots, on the laces.
- a "storm" pocket to protect your telephone or fragile objects, inspired by canyoning bags (sand-proof)
To get the sand out of other pockets, the bottom of it is in mesh.
UV protection: WHAT DOES UPF 40 MEAN?
The UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) index is measured using tests on a fabric using a spectrophotometer.
UPF 40 means that fabric allows only 1/40th of UV rays to pass through – one of the highest protection factors available against the sun's rays.
A cut designed for hot climates
For added comfort, these trousers have a loose fit, unlike most hiking trousers.
As a result, the fabric does not stick to the skin, allowing air to circulate and reducing perspiration.
What's more, thanks to the loose fit, you won't feel restricted by the fabric when sitting down.
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators.
An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most environmentally-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc).
Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products.

The entire design team made several trips to the desert (Sahara in Morocco, Wadi Rum in Jordan) to design the most suitable products for trekking in the desert. This involved a series of tests and subsequent modifications to ensure that your future treks in the desert are as pleasant as possible.
