MOUNTAINEERING in all conditions
Waterproofing and warmth
I struggle with gloves for winter climbing. They are so often expensive and don't live up to expectations. These however are the business. Light, easy to wear (they nice a flexible, not over stiff like a lot of winter gloves), with all the features you need and best of all, really warm. I suffer from cold hands but had no need of inner gloves when climbing my last route. Great, great value.
Warm, waterproof, wrist loops, robust
I tried these out in the Cairngorm mountains with freezing temperatures and gale force winds - they were very warm, comfortable and remained waterproof - everything I ask for in a winter glove.
My only complaint would be that the flocked lining makes them tricky to put on over a pair of glove liners, particularly the little finger - not a big problem, perhaps I'll try silk glove liners rather than polyester?
The gloves are very warm and comfortable
Putting on over under-gloves is tricky
Thank you for taking your time to give us your feedback.
Sounds like you had a great trip in the mountains.
In regard to your little complaint, these gloves are not made to be used with another liner. However, there will be a new version of the Alpi 300 coming and the product manager will take your feedback into account.
Now in the range there is the Alpi 700 (3255943) a overglove with 2 layers - wadded lining, fleece liner.
