Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
2
3 levels of waterproofing
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (around 2 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (around 4 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (around 8 hours of walking). The Arpenaz 50 children's shoe is waterproof for 2000 flexes.
3
Making waterproofing last longer
A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. Using waterproof gaiters or mini gaiters is therefore recommended to keep your feet dry for longer by protecting the top part of your shoes and prevent water from getting in as well as pebbles, sand, etc. Use of a re-waterproofing spray is recommended several times per year. This will help your shoes recover their original water repellent qualities and combat outer stains.

Buying Tips
Allow children to try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to allow then to walk around the store. Make children gradually break into the shoes when first worn so that they adapt to their feet.
5
Which size should I select?
For hiking, do not hesitate to buy one size larger than the usual size to guarantee excellent comfort on the descent and to avoid toes rubbing at the tip of the shoe. Recommendation: nails must be cut short, and before descending, check that the laces stop the foot from slipping forward to the front of the shoe.
6
Field tests
All our shoes undergo comfort and use tests carried out by users who are representative of our target market, in conditions identical to those found in typical use. Our Field Test Missions team the product manager up with people who are unaffiliated with Quechua, to test, improve and validate our products.
7
Laboratory tests
Further laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and webbing, assembly, toxicology, UV resistance, sole and upper component abrasion, accelerated ageing.

Used for More than 1 year
Have bought a few pairs of these for my 5 year old son now. He loves that they are waterproof and comfortable. In addition to this, I love that they are rugged and heard wearing, as well as well priced.
My son runs, climbs, crawls and abuses shoes in any way possible. Despite his numerous efforts, he has been unable to destroy these shoes- admittedly they don't look as good by the time he's outgrown them, but they are still highly functional.
Worth every penny, that's why I continue to by them as he grows.
Hard wearing, comfortable, waterproof
They don't grow as my son's feet grow.
