MOUNTAIN HIKERS who want protection from the rain or wind.
1st jacket in the range with ventilation. Waterproof, breathable, and ventilated, the Forclaz 100 has the essential features of a trekking jacket - at a simply unbeatable price.
Bought this for my Everest Base Camp trek as my triclimate jacket is really heavy duty. It isn't suitable to wear on the trail unless it is freaking cold at really high altitude. So this worn over a light thermal really served the purpose. The actual jacket is more bright than how it looks here. Before I started to train for this trek had put on medicine induced weight. Although bought one size larger, the fit was very tight. After losing 6 kilograms the jacket fitted perfectly. So it was actually a sensible decision to buy large size when the chart indicated that medium would fit me.
Great colour, quality and fit.
Actual size wouldn't fit.
I bought this jacket in store to take to a festival a few weeks ago after the weather predictions for the first 2 days got worse and worse. It is the BEST £18 I have ever spent. It kept me dry through 2 hours of queueing in heavy rain, then trudging through the campsites and pitching the tents in miserable conditions. Everything else I owned was soaked but when I took this jacket off the hoodie I had on underneath was completely dry. It then kept me dry through constant drizzle the next day, and the material seems to have a hydrophobic coating and dries off really quickly once you're out of the rain. I did not expect it to be this good for the price I paid!
I'm 5ft 2" and a size 10 and would say the medium I have is snug, so it may be advisable to go a size above what you think you may need? But otherwise I was really impressed! (I also have this jacket in 2 shades of turquoise rather than yellow, but I'm certain its the same one)
WATERPROOF, nice colour, comfortable...
sizes come up a bit small?
Jacket is very comfortable and totally waterproof. It looks fantastic.
Bought 3 of these and on a recent walk up scafell pike all 3 performed really well. It didn't stop raining the whole day with torrential rain for a long time and not a drop of water got through. Even in August there was sleet at the summit but the jackets all kept out the rain and wind and retained heat. I've paid many times this price and had much worse performance. At this price even if you only get a few trips out of them you've still got an absolute bargain
