I have purchased this produced just yesterday. I went to local store in thane, Maharashtra India. I wanted to purchase a water repellent spray along with it. But they said that the license hasn't been issues to them to keep the sprays in their stores. So can you suggest a good water repellent spray available in India that would be best for this product. And also advice how to use the spray. Thank you
The product was very useful during the hike where we encountered rain and snow enroute. Kept me dry and warm up to a good extent. Good stitching and stylish design
Good fabric quality
More colors may be included in the collection
This is a great jacket and worked well for a year but the fabric is no longer waterproof. Care instructions mention application of waterproofing spray, but I can't find this either on the Decathlon India website or at my local Decathlon outlet (Coimbatore). If it was the UK/EU, I'd just get Nikwax and be done with it, but this being India, Nikwax isn't available here.
Needs regular application of waterproofing spray!
This product misses out on the most important part i.e. durability. I use the product for hiking and also while driving. The product is comfortable and has good breath-ability.
The chest pocket is not usable even though present. If you place a 98gm phone in the chest pocket it fails (i.e. it tore up). The jacket seams covering the water proof lining started to come apart after a couple of wears. I did not expect this to happen within 4 months of purchasing this product. As of now all the seams in my jacket has come off, all the pockets are of now use as they are all open from one way or other. The design is faulty, the product is bound to fail again and again unless the faulty design is fixed.
Otherwise the product provides good rain protection, it has vents to help with air circulation. Yet durability is a shortcoming which needs to be urgently addressed. May be the product batch itself is faulty.
The product can not justify the cost I paid.
good rain protection, Breathable
Faulty design of pockets and seams
Hello Mr. Chatterjee,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear the problems you faced with the Jacket. I guess you wanted to post this review with regard to the older model Forclaz 400 Rain Jacket and not The Forclaz 100. We have a new Forclaz 400 Rain Jacket http://www.decathlon.in/hiking/rain-wear/light-jackets/400-men-black/p-M8302503. We believe that defect was caused due to the incorrect application of the seam tape. We would be more than happy to provide you with a replacement (which is of better quality and a higher level of waterproofing - 10,000mm) or a refund.

I wear this on my 20 minute scooter ride to work and back. So far has kept me dry on a rainy day but haven't been in a real downpour yet. A word of warning though it's advisable to buy a size bigger than normal as it is a very snug fitting jacket.
It's lightweight and easily foldable
I tested this rain jacket during a drizzle and it worked well last year. Today, there is a storm with the wind speed of 10-20km/hr according to a weather app by NEA SG. After walking in the storm for about 15-minutes, the bottom part of the jacket was fully drenched and the water seeped into my shirt.
The bottom part of the sleeves were also fully drenched and damped my arms. Only the hood and the top part of jacket keeps me protected well.
Decent reliability at the discounted price of $30
A shower with wind speed of 10-20km/hr will drench
Light enough to keep in my pack at all times and the underarm zips allow you to regulate temperature without constantly taking the jacket off and on again.
Lightweight and breathable
Zip can sometimes pull apart from the bottom
I purchased this jacket after the waterproofing on my Tresspass jacket was spoiled by me using fabric softener in the wash, I wanted a comfortable and waterproof jacket for my commute to work and this fits the bill exactly.
The jacket is constructed very well, all the pockets have waterproof seams, the interior of the jacket is very comfortable to wear even with short sleeve shirts.
The under arm vents do not have the usual mesh, which is a good thing as there is nothing for the zip to catch when you undo or redo the zip, the vents are a complete opening of the side of the jacket.
One thing to watch out for is the sizing as they come up small, I am normally an XL but with this jacket I had to up the size to XXL as the XL would not have allowed room for a fleece/jumper
Overall very impressed with the jacket and at a great price.
Well made, great waterproofing, comfortable
Excellent jacket! Even at twice the price! Under arm vents, lightweight and good overall fit. The underarm / chest could be roomier and the chest pocket could be deeper / bigger. Only other negative is the depth of the hood, which I would say should be deeper or have a bigger peak on to cover the face.
Hood could be deeper, more room for chest
Bought as a jacket to wear to work. Looks good and fits well. Unfortunately its only let-down is its lack of breathability. It gets a bit too warm and perspiration builds up on long walks unless the under-arm vents are opened and even then it's quite warm.
Nonetheless, if you're after an inexpensive, good looking waterproof jacket it's excellent value for money and I'm very pleased with it.
Great fit. Looks great. Pockets good size.
Doesn't breathe so can get a little sweaty.
