Tips on Quad Roller Skates
For a beginner with quad roller skates, here are some tips that might help:
Equip Yourself With Protective Gear
In addition to your skates, you'll want to make sure you've got some high-quality protective gear on hand. Even the most experienced performers never forget to put on their protective gear before they take the stage. Wearing protective gear allows you to skate more confidently. You'll need a helmet, elbow pads, knee cushions, wrist pads, and skating socks if you're just getting started. If you don't think socks make a difference, we'll explain why. Socks act as a buffer between your feet and the boots' hard material, preventing blisters and calluses. As a bonus, socks absorb sweat from the soles of the feet, preventing stinky feet.
Keep Your Skates In A Safe Place
Take your skates out of the case as soon as possible after a skating session is over. In between sessions, your shoes need to be able to breathe. A boot's glue will weaken if it is exposed to water, which is bad news for suede and leather.
Maintenance of Bearings
Your skates' bearings are perhaps their most important component in terms of performance; they allow you to move quickly and easily, so you should keep them clean and lubricated at all times. Although they aren’t charged separately from your quad skates price, they can make or break your game! Keeping bearings clean and dry is all that is required to maintain even the most high-quality bearings. Since they are frequently exposed to the elements, non-enclosed bearings require frequent lubrication.
Four Wheeler Skates Techniques
Bend Your Knees Towards the Ground
As a general rule of thumb, it is better to stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, squat slightly, and keep your knees bent. On the wheels, stay in this squat position; you can stand up as you feel comfortable as you slide forward at a comfortable pace. Bend your knees and push your weight on the thighs, kick from one leg to the other, and begin gliding again if you need more power to proceed.
Forward Skating
You can do this by twisting your foot into a T-shape. As you push off your back foot, shift your weight to your front foot. After gliding on the front foot, bring your back foot down to the ground. In the meantime, keep rolling. You'll get a feel for the movement by doing this simple kick-off. Start slowly and cautiously.
Skating Backwards
To avoid crashing into anyone or anything while skating backward, make sure your surroundings are clear of obstructions. Perform the trick by placing your feet in a V-shaped position with your toes pointed inward. Maintain a slight bend in your knees and an even distribution of weight on both of your legs. As you apply pressure to the back of the dominant foot, lift the other foot gently. You will automatically be pushed backward by the movement. Make a push with your toes as you lift your dominant foot off the ground. Alternate between your forward and backward steps to keep progressing. Don't lose focus on what's important. Avoid a slip and fall or other mishaps by checking behind you frequently.
