This is good as it is having ankle support. I have done the high altitude trek with this shoe. Don't use it new in the trek use it before the trek this will help for more friction.
Bought the shoe from Decathlon Howrah, everything is fine, except the grip, it slips easily on cemented wet surface, i.e. on wet leaves, light moss, etc., Actually the grip of the shoe, misses the micro designs that are present in your Arpenaz 50 Mid shoes. Should change the outer sole, so that the shoe doesn't slips. I didn't expect it from Decathlon.
Good product good price
Bought it 2 weeks back, used it just once and in the first 90 min of usage water was in.. I had planned for wearing these on Himalayan treks but these are not even worth for mansoon treks in western ghats.. disappointed with the product
Thank you for your feedback on the Forclaz 100 Hiking Shoes. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the product. Here I have few information to help you understand the usage of this product.
1. This shoe is designed for 1-day Hiking, and it is not recommended for several days trekking since it doesn't come with the grip and comfort requires for Trekking. We have Trek 100 Boots for your Himalayan trek: https://www.decathlon.in/p/8319097_quechua-forclaz-500-men-s-high-waterproof-hiking-shoes.html
2. It will provide waterproofing only until the second lace hook from the top. The same has been tested in our laboratory as well as in the field. Here is a video for your reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGQG2TyY9d0
However, there are chances that this could have happened due to a manufacturing defect from our end. So, I would request you to take your shoes to any of our stores, and the team would be more than happy to investigate the product and help you accordingly.
I remain available in case you have any further queries:)
Used for mountaineering, proved to be the best.
Purchased this from Bhubaneswar decathlon. Going to Kailash Mansarovar in July 2017. To get accoustumed , went for a morning walk. Only after 3 to 4 km that too in the park, the upper part of both the Shiites developed crack where it folds. Am taking the shoes to the store. Don't know how to go for the trip if a product like quechua behaves like this
Great product. Has served me well on two treks, both with snow and rains and over a week each.
Can the team share some maintenance tips? How to keep it waterproof (any recommendations on product), how to clean the inside of the shoe, and tips on drying it! Would help a lot
Really good quality at this price range. Had used the same shoes borrowing from a friend and decided to go for it. Robust design, good grip on rocky surfaces, but not waterproof. A bit clumsy on soft snow, and slippery on hard ice which is expected. Overall, a good buy!
I used these for my Roopkund Trek in the month of May and they proved to be wonderful. Of course, these are not so great when it comes to a snowy terrain but the grip otherwise is nice.
