Dual-material lining: mesh around the upper body to enhance the garment's breathability / nylon around the hips to optimise ease of movement and resistance to wear.
Additional recommended products
Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To boost fabric water-repellency and optimise your garment's performance throughout its life.
Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
Waterproof garment
Technologies: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9
Component with coating or a membrane
Coating: like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable. It is often less costly than a membrane, and requires a lining for protection. The membrane: is like a very fine plastic film (polyurethane) making the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the edge, being more supple, lightweight, durable and often more breathable than coating.
Water repellent component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The fabric is made water repellent by treating its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof overtrousers have received a water repellent treatment

Stockage tips
Always make sure that this waterproof protective garment is completely dry before storing it.

Maintenance tips
Wash at 30°C. Use liquid detergent, do not add fabric conditioner. Fasten zips and rip-tabs before washing. With each wash, renew the fabric's water repellent properties using a suitable treatment. Water resistant but certainly not waterproof
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Brought this product from the Bangalore store and they couriered it to me. While the buying process, including the wonderfully detailed information provided on the company website, was very pleasant, the product hasn't really lived up to all it's advertised qualities. The quality of fabric, liners, zips/draw strings, hood, colour and overall design is very good but I was a bit disappointed with waterproofing of the jacket. I have been using it for about 6 weeks this monsoon for walks and jogs and tested it in mild to medium Mumbai rain. While light rain rolled off the jacket and provided excellent waterproofing, medium steady rain for more than 20 mins resulted in the inner lining becoming damp as the jacket soaked in some rain. Maybe the jacket needs to have the repellant treatment specified after every 3 washes.. though I haven't yet washed it. Would appreciate if the Decathlon service team could advise the product to use for this treatment and hopefully it will enhance the waterproofing.
Excellent design. Quality overall is very good.
Waterproofing of the jacket
Strongly recommended
Used for 1 week or less
I just got it three weeks before and I was waiting to test it. Few days ago when it rained heavily, I used it. I was in a downpour for half an hour and not a drop entered inside. The best thing is, it kept me cool. Normally the other rain jackets makes me feel sweaty, this one kept me cool. And the inner chest pocket accommodated a large smart phone.
Weight, breathable fabric, looks good
Hood is large and it obstructs the vision.
Good Product for the price quoted
Used for 1 week or less
Decathlon product delivery ( Blue dart ) excellent
This jacket comes only in two sizes 2XL & 3XL
Good discount ( other online portals charge much more except one )
My product was manufactured in 2015
Fabric, Zips, Pockets, Velcro are all good
Hood is non detachable and was too too BIG and covers by eyes.
Neck cord tightening not helpful
Neck & Hip cords shouldhavee synthetic or cotton mixed and not elastic as given hence will last longer
Cord clip has spring inside which may rust and not desirable
Wish more sizes & colours were available
Fabric breathing not tested yet
Overall liked the product but hood....
Good quality product for the price
Hood is NOT DETACHABLE and too big
water seeps through sidezip while trekking in rain
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I bought this product after enquiring a lot in decathlon store since I am a regular trekker across western ghats. But i was disappointed by quality of product since i bought this product with intention of protecting myself from rain. I trekked in one of the peak in karnataka called mullayanagiri all along in drizzling rain with a belief of jacket being water proof. But i was surprised to see that water enters through side zip. I bought this jacket for my hampta pass trek this month, but i don't think this will protect me from rains in himachal. Really disappointed by this product

Can't think of any
Thanks decathlon n blue dart for a very quick delivery. (2days). The jacket looks n feels nice to wear.
But as reviewed by someone earlier too, the problem is the inner yellow fabric at the cuffs pokes out as you wear it. You have to tuck it in every time. Hope you come up with some solution for this.
Further I m waiting for the rains to come. Then I can comment on the water resistance of the jacket.
Good Jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
My trek this year was in the Pin Valley (Himachal Pradesh, India) during the end of September and early October. The weather forecast had light rain and cold wind with gusts. I wanted a jacket that would protect me against these elements and bought the Quechua Arpenaz 300 Men's Trekking Rain Jacket (Blue). Now post the trip here is my review.

The waterproofing (NOVADRY waterproof coating 5,000 mm), along with the fully taped seams were a good protection against the light rain made worse by strong winds. The water repellency made the rain drops bead off the surface. The outer layer also provided windproofing against the cold wind.

The jacket has a total of four pockets: Two hand pockets, an outer chest pocket on the right side and lastly an inner pocket on the left. The inner pocket was useful to store my camera batteries and cellphone to keep them warm. All the pockets are zipped.

An inner and outer flap is provided to the front zip to prevent entry of water and wind. The outer flap also has usefully placed velcro strips that fix it to the main jacket.

The rip-tabs on the sleeve ends were particularly useful in the cold windy conditions. Similarly for the elastic drawcords to tighten around the waist and hood.

Meant as an outer shell I bought a size bigger to accommodate the inner layers. The jacket fitted me really well with all the layers on.

Pros: Waterproof and wind protection

Cons: I felt the jacket was on the heavier side. Also, it would help to have an informational graphic/poster of the waterproof testing standards at the stores.

Running seam that is not finished off along the edges, at the wrists and several other parts of the jacket. It makes it look cheap and well manufactured. Moreover, I am afraid the jacket will not last too long once one of the threads work lose and the stitching comes apart. It's disappointing.
