i used this on a trek to Goechala in October and extremely dissatisfied with the shoes. it is very hard on your foot sole with very little flexibility. The sole molding is also coming off in some places and i wouldn't take this for another trek
Bought it for seven thousand INR. It worked well on first two hikes (5 days and 3 days). But in the third hike, I saw the inside sole tearing off from both sides in the middle. In the last 14 months I have had it, the total no. of days I have worn it is less than a month! I am not sure if the insole should come lose over such limited usage. The shoe is fine and the grip is good, but the tearing off of the insole is a dampener. On op of that, the price is quite expensive. Had this been a 3000 rs. shoe, I would not have made this comment.
Although I had purchased the shoe 3 years back I had worn it only twice for trek to Himalayas, the warranty was definitely void as 2 years had passed, as I started training I thought of checking my shoes wrapped up and cushioned in paper, I found the mid soles cracking, when I just tried to test the soles ripped off. The mid sole is thermocol and comes off very easily, decathlon outlets did not help to fix it either, they suggested roadside repair instead. The shelf life is just 2 years beyond that the sole just shreds off like the skin of the snake, this happened with couple of my friends who purchased the same shoe, they were lucky enough to get it replaced in warranty.
For such a great brand name and high price, shelf life of 2 years is too low, if not replacement decathlon should provide repair and maintenance services at least.
Hello Siddhesh,Thanks for your valuable time to review our Forclaz 600 boot by Quechua. I apologise as the value of the product did not live up to the promise assured.
To address the issue, the Forclaz 600 boot has an EVA midsole to offer the user with a superior cushioning on the mountains for a longer usage. The challenge to this is the process of hydrolysis( a process where a component absorbs water when it comes in contact and thus there is a peeling off). To overcome this challenge, the current Forclaz 600 (new name: Trek 500) has a catalyst added which controls hydrolysis and thus securing the promise of durability for our trekking products.I apologise again for the inconvenience caused to you, and I request you kindly to visit any of our store closer to you and get this exchanged. It would be great for us if you could use the new Trek 500 boot and give us your valuable feedback.
I stay available if you need any further assistance with our products or services in the future.
This is not enough for high altitude trekking in the snow field.
I read a lot of reviews people cribbing about soles and upper of the 600. I find these shoes to be as good as it can get for the price I paid for. There are two things we need to understand limitation of a product and life of a product. Product description is well defined and people having grievances need to read them again. I have done two ladakh, about 3 months put together in varied conditions ranging from 2 to -20 deg c and this did very well which automatically makes these shoes worth its price. In addition did a Lahaul, spit as well and a casual trip to Mont Blanc. The shoes held. It's waterproof, has a reasonably good grip for the conditions of the places mentioned above and is comfortable. Even walked an 8 km stretch in Mumbai heat which makes your feet warm but still no blisters and it was not intolerable. I would rate this 5 stars
I got these shoes for my Arunachal trip mostly for Tawang.i have knee pain and my legs are weak however the shoes made up for the lack of power .gave me excellent grip and warmth throughout. They were amazing.Highly recommended.
I used this only for a week for a trek of 21 km. The trail was muddy, grassy, rocky and snowy in between. The leather scraped off pretty easily when in contact with few rocks. I could even see the leather scraped off at the point where it is glued to the sole from where the water started coming inside my shoes. Perhaps it wasn't glued properly. Either I got a defective piece or the quality of shoes is too inferior for such high price. I think these shoes will last for only one more trek which is not worth the price. I am really disappointed with the quality of shoes. I bought it for long term use and not for 1 or 2 treks.
Also it doesn't provide enough cushion to the forefoot when you're descending. My feet were quite sore after the descent.
Advice you to add cushion to the sole, especially to the forefoot and heel.
Not worth the price, not so durable sadly. :(
Ankle support, waterproof upto an extent
leather not so durable, not cushioned sole, expensiv
Thanks for your detailed feedback on the Forclaz 600 boots. I am sorry that you did not find the boots durable enough.
Like all footwear from Decathlon, these boots also come with a warranty of 2 years against manufacturing faults and defects. Therefore you can take them to your nearest Decathlon store for inspection, and the store team will be happy to exchange/refund for you if the boots were a defective pair.
Though, here is how we make these boots.
Regarding the cushioning, these boots are equipped with a full length PU midsole(heel to toe) for maximum comfort during long hikes. PU is not as soft as EVA(usually found in running shoes and light hiking boots) but performs better during longer use as it doesn't lose it's shape as easily as EVA. However I will still forward your feedback to the product Engineer for him to look into it.
In the meanwhile, I suggest using padded hiking socks (regular socks don't provide enough cushioning) and tying the laces securely around the instep and ankle(as loose laces can make your feel slide forward and hit the front).
Please feel free to get back to me in case of any questions.

The sole of the shoe has come out, we got no help to fix it, from the store we had bought it.
Not worth the money spent.

I've tried many other more expensive hiking shoes and none compare to the comfort of this one. It's very well padded in all the right places, even for my slightly wider than normal feet. I didn't have to 'break them in' - just put them on and started hiking as if they were made especially for my feet! Very happy with this product.
