I read a lot of reviews people cribbing about soles and upper of the 600. I find these shoes to be as good as it can get for the price I paid for. There are two things we need to understand limitation of a product and life of a product. Product description is well defined and people having grievances need to read them again. I have done two ladakh, about 3 months put together in varied conditions ranging from 2 to -20 deg c and this did very well which automatically makes these shoes worth its price. In addition did a Lahaul, spit as well and a casual trip to Mont Blanc. The shoes held. It's waterproof, has a reasonably good grip for the conditions of the places mentioned above and is comfortable. Even walked an 8 km stretch in Mumbai heat which makes your feet warm but still no blisters and it was not intolerable. I would rate this 5 stars
I got these shoes for my Arunachal trip mostly for Tawang.i have knee pain and my legs are weak however the shoes made up for the lack of power .gave me excellent grip and warmth throughout. They were amazing.Highly recommended.
I used this only for a week for a trek of 21 km. The trail was muddy, grassy, rocky and snowy in between. The leather scraped off pretty easily when in contact with few rocks. I could even see the leather scraped off at the point where it is glued to the sole from where the water started coming inside my shoes. Perhaps it wasn't glued properly. Either I got a defective piece or the quality of shoes is too inferior for such high price. I think these shoes will last for only one more trek which is not worth the price. I am really disappointed with the quality of shoes. I bought it for long term use and not for 1 or 2 treks.
Also it doesn't provide enough cushion to the forefoot when you're descending. My feet were quite sore after the descent.
Advice you to add cushion to the sole, especially to the forefoot and heel.
Not worth the price, not so durable sadly. :(
Ankle support, waterproof upto an extent
leather not so durable, not cushioned sole, expensiv
Thanks for your detailed feedback on the Forclaz 600 boots. I am sorry that you did not find the boots durable enough.
Like all footwear from Decathlon, these boots also come with a warranty of 2 years against manufacturing faults and defects. Therefore you can take them to your nearest Decathlon store for inspection, and the store team will be happy to exchange/refund for you if the boots were a defective pair.
Though, here is how we make these boots.
Regarding the cushioning, these boots are equipped with a full length PU midsole(heel to toe) for maximum comfort during long hikes. PU is not as soft as EVA(usually found in running shoes and light hiking boots) but performs better during longer use as it doesn't lose it's shape as easily as EVA. However I will still forward your feedback to the product Engineer for him to look into it.
In the meanwhile, I suggest using padded hiking socks (regular socks don't provide enough cushioning) and tying the laces securely around the instep and ankle(as loose laces can make your feel slide forward and hit the front).
Please feel free to get back to me in case of any questions.
Thanks and regards,

we brought 3 pairs all have their rubber soles detached from midsoles we tried to stick em back cause we were on a trek but midsoles have perished. Also on wet rocks or concrete there is no grip. our shoes are 3yrs old .our mail to customer care reply was these shoes only last 2yrs buy new shoes.
fit is good all is good till the soles
soles have detached from midsole =DISINTERGRATING
The sole of the shoe has come out, we got no help to fix it, from the store we had bought it.
Not worth the money spent.

If you want a great walking boot you've just found it. You'll never look back. The best walking boot that I have ever bought. Incredible value for money.
Comfort, lightweight, fit, durable, crafted
I don't normally buy boots at this price because I didn't use to walk so much, however walking more demanded a better boot.
I have now discovered, over the last 3 months, how much I have missed out.
My walks are usually in the 8-10 mile range with occasional longer hikes in the Peak district or Staffordshire moorlands.
These boots are very comfortable, very dry and provide good traction.
Well worth the money and highly recommended.
fit; price; waterproof
I have been using these boots for a while now and can't find fault with them. They are comfy from first use and are waterproof. For the money I do not think you can get a better boot.
Comfort, waterproof, grip
Sole could be stiffer but not an issue really.
I bought these shoes just two days before I left on a month long hiking trip to Patagonia (Argentina and Chile) because I heard that I really needed waterproof shoes. I wasn't convinced initially on what boots would give me vs. hiking shoes.
Now that I have returned from my trip and walked several hundreds of kilometers on them, on glaciers, mountains, in light snow, rain, and sun, I must say that I absolutely love them!
They didn't need any breaking in and were comfortable to wear from the start. The waterproof coating works very well, I've walked through countless streams and creeks every day and my feet never got wet. You wouldn't even see that the top of the shoe touched any water because the water drops just fell off. (I was showing off the waterproofness of these boots to someone, and she didn't even believe that I stood in water the second before.) I never felt like getting really sweaty feet, so even though the boots is waterproof, it's still breathable.
The grip is also great, I could stand on a small corner of a stone, touching only a small part of the sole, and still feel like my whole feet had good contact with the ground.
Would definitely recommend this boot to everyone!
very comfortable, very waterproof
I bought these boots 4 months ago before for a weeklong trip to the remote islands of Scotland, with All types of terrain. Before this I decide to wear them in, first trip was all-terrain 6 miles’ hike, they were waterproof ok, but it felt like wearing a pair of clogs, they just did not give, I have skinny feet, however these where extremely tight on me to such an extent I had to loosen them to get the blood flowing again as my feet where freezing, this resulted in a gap at the top that let water in slightly. I then tried them on a 3-mile beach walk, same result, and finally went on my trip i luckily brought my old boots with me as I just could not cope with these after 4 hours. Soles of my feet ached, top of foot was also aching, no blisters though so they fitted OK.
I think I must have got a dodgy pair of boots as for this price I would have expected so much better and nobody else has reported these issues.
Waterproof, easy to put on and off.
Solid sole, tight uppers, no movement
Thanks for your feedback on the Quechua Forclaz 600 hiking boots and I apologise for the inconvenience caused by the fit of the boot. I will share your comments with the Product Manager. Like you mentioned, so far these boots have received some good feedback so I hope this is an isolated issue.
