Technical Information

1
Adapted clothing
The body produces heat during exercise, which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If the clothing is unfit for this purpose, the body will cool down and the blood flow to the hands will drop in order to keep the central core warm. The gloves and clothing should therefore be adapted for use to keep hands comfortable. If you're not sure, it's always best to select a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
2
Recommended temperature = 2°C
Suited to the ambient temperature for which 100% of testers judge the thermal sensation to be acceptable on their hands. This is 2°C for these gloves
3
Limit temperature = -4°C
Suited to the ambient temperature for which 90% of testers judge the thermal sensation to be acceptable on their hands. This is -4°C for these gloves
4
How is the use temperature measured?
All our gloves are laboratory tested using a thermal hand to determine the level of warmth as well as the minimum usage temperatures. The minimum use temperatures (recommended and limits) are based on a study carried out on a panel of 23 testers in walking situations exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and wind of 10 km/h. These temperatures are only valid in walking situations.
5
Water-repellent fabric
Raindrops roll off the fabric. But the glove is not waterproof. For lasting protection from the rain, you need to wear a waterproof overglove or overmitten.
6
Dexterity of the glove
The dexterity of a glove is its ability to manipulate objects. Our gloves have been scored in the laboratory on a scale of 1 to 5. The nearer the glove's dexterity rating gets to 5, the closer the manipulation when wearing the glove gets to that of a bare hand. In particular, we tested the ability to easily put on and open your jacket.
7
100% Windproof
These gloves have a 100% windproof membrane, ideal for staying warm even in strong winds.

Good piece and good product. Fits well. Longevity needs to checked. But worth the money
Useless
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I got these for the long term hike on Camino de Santiago and it was a major disappointment. I used them in the temperatures above 0 and my hands were freezing more than with thin baselayer gloves. Water repellency is also discutable as the gloves got wet as soon as the rain started, and what are the chances that you are hiking in dry and cold environment? If I've to put water resiatant gloves above these, then why the grip & tactile features?
Response of the brand
Thanks for your feedback on the Trek 700 glove and sorry for the inconvenience caused. I shall pass on your comments regarding the comfort temperature the the product manager. Regarding the waterproofing; its unfortunately not a feature of this model of glove. They are windproof and water  resistant however do not contain the materials or seams to be completely waterproof. For such a glove we have a waterpoof mitten to go over them (https://www.decathlon.co.uk/black-trek-500-overgloves-id_8396272.html)

Bought for daily cycling in December this glove has performed brilliantly. It's kept hands warm and dry. I washed it every use given I got sweaty and muddy on the ride. I have also telemark nd cross country skied with them in Sweden in -20c and these gloves have kept me warm.
