I've been riding it for 7½ months now and I've put it through a lot of punishment. I've rode it hard and on every surface possible. The fork holds up to a lot of punishment and the gears are very smooth. The front derailleur is buttery smooth and the rear Altus derailleur is very good. The brakes are quite strong but they need to be bled every 6 months if used a lot like I do.
Good components go on this bike. Used for almost one year now. Decent shifters and with proper maintenance, this bike can go a long way. Good frame sizing, although Btwin RR series are a bit aggressive when it comes to ride position. That is my view and not a bad remark. There is one major flaw with Btwin though, and that is tires. Pathetic quality. Reduced one star just for that. Huge cracks develop on the side walls and tread; within a month of purchase in my case. Learnt later that this is the case with most Btwin tires for MTBs. I was told that Btwin all-weather and dry-weather tires are meant only for trails and not tarmac or asphalt. Better to get better tires that hold better life.
This cycle is very good in a fine price
I have been riding this bike for almost 2000 kms, including 800kms Spiti valley expedition and one who knows Spiti valley or Himalayas, will know about the roads there.
But even in those toughest roads, I had no trouble with the bike at all even after having 20kgs of load as the expedition was self-supported.
Brakes, shifters, derailleurs, are working perfectly, only need to change the tyres.
It's a good bike with better components than other similar priced bikes and I enjoy riding it.
Good shifters, good fork. The brakes could be better, some mechanical brakes feel better to use than the hydraulic ones on this (it might be needing some servicing). Also recently the rear disc started making loud and annoying squealing and clicking sounds when I brake.
The tyres, I did not bother to check them at the stores and a couple of days later, noticed little cracks all over the tyres(dry rotting I assume). The front had cracks all over the top while the rear had cracks all over the side walls. Certainly not replacing them with B-twin tyres.
The first time when I replaced my bike's tire due to crack found all over it .At that instance I thought it must be defected product.but soon after that replacement I faced same problem again but this time they denied replacement saying that they are wearable parts but in my opinion cracks won't happen because of that reason. so it is better to go for other tire brands.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Tires are a very difficult component to assess because they are subjected to wear and tear. The life of the tires also depends on the storage and usage (tire pressure) etc. But cracks on the tires is a feedback that I will pass on to the product manager. If it is ok for you, we will need to get in touch with you for more details. Apologies for the bad experience you have had to experience with the tires.
very comfort and stylish good for mountain bikers good quality and low weight
>Front wheel loosening was just due to the new and shiny parts in the initial weeks. Never faced it after regular usage.
>As promised by the shop head, Fork oil leakage is reducing with usage
>There is only one complaint or rather a suggestion: I expect the rear spoke tension to remain stiff and not get loose upon "slightly moderate to moderate" offroading.
Apart from this I'm quite satisfied with the bike
Shimano Altus derailleur had to be fine tuned.
One problem, if I can say, the front suspension lock adjuster knob is coming off.
I decided to get my cycle from DECATHLON THANE directly as a checkup is done after the purchase. The Shimano ALTUS 9SPD works like a charm. The shifters have a good feel to them. The Hayes Hydraulic Brakes have Good modulation and power. The suspension works really well. I need to ride it without preload as my weight isn't enough to push it down (sag). The seats were not upto my expectations but were decent. This cycle is perfect for highway cycling (road bikes are better but this is more comfy). I would totally recommend this bike to any intermediate riders.
