occasional road cycling over 30 to 60 km.
A step up in road cycling efficiency: aluminium frame, 16 speeds, and a new carbon fork. Ergonomic handlebar, and the new B'Twin Ergo Fit saddle for added comfort.
Nice bike in all aspects. Microshift drivetrain exceeded my expectations. The bike accelerates very nicely and has good stability even at high speed. Only thing is that there is no triple chainring as shown on the site, it's a 50 34 dual chainring. Please correct that
First of all, the triban 500 is very fast and super light compare to the dahon folding bike that I have been riding for over 8 years. However, I found that the brake is not as responsive as my folding bike. After consulting with decathlon training staff I understood that it is not suppose to be very responsive as regular bike since the tire is very thin and that if it is too responsive the tire won't be able to stop the bike anyways. Having understood this concept I feel much more comfortable riding the bike. The bike is also equipped with a very comfortable to seat. One thing I notice that I don't like about is that the braking wire is located right next to the thumb in regular riding position which I found it kind of dangerous when run into an accident. Other than that overall the bike is very nice and for this price it is definitely a good value for the money.
Had a great time riding it. It's fantastic machine. If you are just beginner in road bikes then just go for it. Total value for money. On top of that, you'll get decathlon's trusted service.
Triban 500 is a great road bike for people new to road biking, did the purchase after a lot of comparison with other road bikes in this category. this is a perfect value for money . writing this review after riding around more than 1000 km . lightweight, comfortable upright sitting position, smooth gear shifting are few of good points . the staff at decathlon store are extremely helpful .
if you are looking for your first road bike , you must consider this bike for sure. its a great bike and the price at which it comes, its a deal not to miss. a similar configuration road bike might cost you at least 15 thousand more .. and then the support and after sales service you will get at decathlon store is unmatchable...
I bought this for my rides in mountains which are usually 100-200 km. I have found it to be excellent for the purpose. I have traveled around uttarakhand on this and recently went to Kaza. I have taken through very bad roads and it has survived it all. I earlier wanted to go for a hybrid, but now I am sticking to this.
