Bought it after a number of telephone calls to decath-stores in india. My requirement was to use it for 26 inch MTB (6 gear) without quick release hub. (obviously for me , there is no use of the quick release axle supplied with the product) & 24 inch MTB (hard tail) for my son. Fitted my 26 inch MTB & to my disappointment the tyre was offset from centre in the magnetic roller towards the left. however i could improvise it by adding a hub nut in the rear axle.
Verdict 1 : Product not suitable for rear hub axle less than 190 mm.
Then I changed the hub axle to 190 mm added 2 nuts at the end of the axle and "voila" we can fit the 24 inch MTB also to it in addition to my 26 inch MTB.
Tip: Just place the quick release axle provided with the product into the product's lock nut/socket and ensure that the nut you add at the end also stays only that much like the quick release axle supplied.
VERDICT 2: The magnetic resistance unit is not adjustable Horizontally even to a millimeter.
seems that the product is made keeping in mind only those dummies who don't know to use a spanner.
(NB: some guys who own a bicycle, do know how to hold a spanner)
Verdict 3 : Not suitable for cycles with less than 190 mm axles.
Verdict 4: With this many issues please don't get carried away by the claim of decathlon that it will fit any bicycle 26/26 inch - road/MTB and end up buying a product for which you have to improvise this much.
Verdict 5 : If this product was made for specific bicycles please be honest enough to specify which bikes are really compatible with this product.
Please do keep in mind that there are customers who find use to this type of product even though they won't be cycling professionals but know a bit about the sport of cycling if not everything.
common sense should have prevailed wih decathlon, to specify the minimum length of the rear hub axle for the product to be used.(don't put blame on the manufacturer)
Thank you for taking the time to give us your review of the home trainer. Firstly, I would like to apologize for the miss communication from our side. This home trainer is designed purely for road bikes. If you would like to sue an MTB, the tires have to be changed into hybrid tires to reduce the friction of thick tires on the roller. Also, we highly recommend that there should be no structural changes that should be made to install the bike on the home trainer. The home trainer comes with a quick release axil and this axil has to be replaced with the one on the bike to install the bike on the home trainer. Please do not use the home trainer on a 24" wheel because the structure will not be stable and it is not designed for kids bikes.
