Made for Women Hikers looking for waterproof protection. Very feminine, this women's hiking jacket is fitted at the waist. Waterproof rain protection that you can take with you wherever you go: with its compact size, it fits neatly into its pocket!
This garment passed a 60L/sqm/h shower test lasting 1 hour. This test replicates average rain shower conditions.
This jacket's fabric is water repellent: It has the capability to make water run off the garment’s surface without absorbing it. As a result, the fabric does not soak up the water and remains lightweight and breathable. The water repellent feature is obtained by a treatment applied on the fabric's outer surface.
Moreover, the main seams that are most exposed to the rain are sealed.
How to maintain the waterproofing of your jacket over the long term
The fabric's water repellent properties must be reactivated in order to preserve its long-lasting effective waterproofing: we recommend that this is done after every 3 washes, or after wearing a dozen times in the rain. If washing, it is imperative that the garment is thoroughly rinsed, after which the water repellent properties can be easily reactivated by warming: in a tumble dryer or with a hairdryer for a relatively short period. You will find all our care guidelines in this product sheet.
Waterproof rating expressed in mm or Schmerber
The resistance of a fabric is measured using water pressure expressed in mm of water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the water pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. Fabrics scoring 2,000 mm can resist the pressure of 2,000 mm of water.
To find out if a fabric is breathable, its RET evaporative resistance (test based on ISO 11092) is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and therefore the higher the fabric's breathability.
RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric
9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric
12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric
RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
How to choose your waterproof jacket based on your activity and sport
During a sporting activity, a person perspires more or less, depending on the intensity or the length of the activity. If the fabric's breathability is not adapted to your type of activity, sweat can condense inside the jacket.
You feel wet inside: it is not the rain that seeps in, but the sweat that condenses.
You must therefore choose your rain jacket based on your type of activity.
This jacket is designed for a 2-hour hike at a pace of 5km/h max.

Towards more environmental-friendly dyes
Our teams work to find innovative processes that limit the use or pollution of water during the manufacturing process.
The dope dyed technique saves up to 60% water and significantly reduces the amount of CO2 emissions. It also preserves the garment's colour.
In 2019 with this jacket, we will start using this process on the marine colour (while we master this technique on other colours): Implementations are planned during the season
Towards more environmental-friendly materials
We take care of our planet to preserve our natural playground and to contribute to the pleasures of hiking.
Given that we have mastered the dyeing process more respectful of the environment only on the colour marine for this jacket, we decided, starting in 2019, to use materials made of recycled polyester fibres on the other colours. This allows us to reduce our environmental impact whatever the colour may be.
