Technical Information

1
Thermal insulation
Duck down 90% down and 10% feather with a fill power of 700 Cuin (EU standard). Jacket's assembly is 3D partitioned. * Our feathers come from Chinese ducks farmed for their meat. We retrieve their feathers after they are culled. We keep the ducks death certificates
2
Temperature rating use
Our jackets have been tested in a laboratory, in a climatic chamber, allowing us to identify the recommended temperatures for use. For moderate activity (in 5 km/h wind), this jacket is suitable for temperatures up to -29°C.
3
Pockets and sacks
This jacket contains: 2 outer hand pockets 2 outer chest pockets accessible when wearing a harness + 1 patch pocket inside, one of these is for slipping in your phone 2 mesh net pocket inside jacket to keep your 2nd pair of gloves or flask warm 1 stuff sack for storing jacket on mountain excursions
4
Hood
Down hood designed for wearing over your mountaineering helmet, adjustable with 2 systems at front and rear of jacket
5
Reinforced forearms
Durable component has been selected to reinforce jacket's forearms. Because these areas are heavily used during practice, the chosen component is more robust than the main component of the jacket.
6

Malaku II Down Jacket - Red Simond
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Good size and fit, well made with good materials, light and warm. Pockets seal with zips, spacious inside pockets too. The hood fits well and the tougher material used on the forearms is a good design idea. All this at a very reasonable price, as usual from Decathlon.
superb jacket
Used for 3 to 6 months
I have used this jacket (green one) during pangarchula trek ( peak day), and kalindi khal ( pass day & during some night above 5000 mtrs) this year. Extremely good, guaranteed to keep you warm. You should have it if you are going above snow line where nights and early mornings can be real cold.
Great jacket
Used for 3 to 6 months
Best jacket if you are going to live in very low temperatures condition like -35 to -40.
U won’t even need a lining inside the jacket. Keeps you warm all the time. Light weight water proof
Light and Toasty Warm
Used for 3 to 6 months
I used this product on Kang Yatse II in August end. Temperature were cold, maybe around -15 after base camp. The windspeed was mild so did not need a shell over it.
I recommend it for people going above snowline or sub zero temperatures as it's a much better alternate to heavy synthetic jackets and you don't feel it's weight in your bag.The main fabric is ripstop which is good and it has a new technology of stitchless compartments which reduced down loss and also heat loss. It's snow repellent but not waterproof and also not windproof. A shell jacket to be worn if going anywhere gusty. Ideal for High altitude treks and expeditions. Don't think it's suitable above 7000m.
